Low AMH

I’m considering a second round of ICSI to try for a second baby.

When I conceived with my first it was on our fourth attempt, a new protocol than previous attempts, AMH was 8 and I was 36 years old.

I’m now 38 years only and my AMH has reduced to 4.9.

Has anyone had success at my age with this kind of AMH?

I had success with low AMH 0.16 at 41. Low AMH just means you won't make many eggs but doesn't mean you don't have a good one in there somewhere. Just have to catch it, which is not easy and may require multiple rounds/attempts.

That’s very true. I’ve never had more than 4 eggs and my last cycle I done I only managed 2, which were so badly fragmented and developed they couldn’t even grade the embryos. But I have a perfect little daughter now from they poor quality embryos. So you are right. I think I was surprised at how much my AMH had went down in just a few years. But best looking at the positives.

Yeah mine declined a lot in short amount of time too and I never even got more than 1 egg per cycle. Many in our situation swith to natural or mild IVF and bank embryos first before doing transfers.

Hi my AMH is 2.3 I dont understand when doctor advising the medication to be high doses. DO they call it MIld?

High doses in general don't work on low AMH. Mild means very little stims or just something like Clomid and natural means none. Not sure why your doctor wants you on high stims. Maybe he wants to see if you will respond despite low AMH? Perhaps some women with low AMH do respond to high stims but in most cases they don't and end up switching to mild IVF after getting poor response from regular IVF. Is this your first cycle?

We are so confused because we cant even calculate or plan. If IVF is a gamble then we may need more IVF and for sure we should buy Access Fertility plan although it doesnt cover meds and PGS..Hm...Access Fertility is like 14 000 add PGS 3100, ad dmeds looks like they ask me 4500 for 2 periods ... I am just scared to start IVF

Is the 14,000 just for one cycle or 3? Yeah the meds and PGS are never included that's standard. Depending on your response, you may not even need PGS if the number of embryos ends up being 2 or less. Mild IVF means cheaper and less meds, so you may save some money there too. I did a cycle overseas for about 3000 euros but ended up paying just 200 due to it being canceled, as no response. The second was in the US and here it was 40,000, just to get that one unfortunate follicle and BFN in the end.

Access fertility for advanced age up to 45 ( need to pay full) £13400 fresh/natural and add 800£ if frozen) -2 IVF unlimited embryo freezing. USed to Live in USA ...It is too expensive there. Had broken foot paid 2000$ just for the emergency to check me , put cast ..

Lol yeah, I grew up in Europe on free health care, so I'm having a sticker shock now living here. After my 2 cycles that didn't work, I decided to go the donor egg route in Czech Republic but got pregnant against all odds naturally right before the transfer. I feel bad now having 5 PGS tested donor egg embryos on ice just sitting there. The timing of my pregnancy was crazy but better late than never I say. Good luck with the cycles.

For my first 2 cycles they also put me on 300 units of Gonal and 75 u of Menopur plus something else, so I guess doctor wanted to try and see if I respond well. After miserable response with 1 follicle each time, they classified me as a poor responder and told me that stimming is useless in my case and just go natural.

Mild Stimulation Regime (MSR) with norethisterone (NET)( 1st period start Net, start Progynova, stop Progynova , 2 period start stimul., Clomid injections, start antibiotics, start indomethacin , stop stimul, EC , Embryo freeze.

Hi Hopeful. Although your AMH is lower, I'm sure it will be usable. I doubt you will produce many eggs but 3 or 4 should do just nicely. Fingers crossed you can try again. Diane

I was 39w my Amh was 3.4pmol I naturally got pregnant at 40 now 41 due my baby next week. I had 3 mmc and 2 chemicals before this pregnancy.

Hi I had an amh 3.8 3 years ago I look a lot of vitamins along with raspberry leaf tea I had ovulation tracking & found my lining was an issue on top on low amh.... I had a lining of 7.8 prior to ovulation which shrunk back to 5.6 where the nurse told me I had no chance......

That same month I fell pregnant & now nearly 20 weeks. the following medications, Estrogen, Progynova 10mg and Trental-Pentoxyfylline I read about which have great increases in linings thickening. This is what I was going to ask for may be worth seeing what your lining is too xx

Oh really. I’ve actually said a second round that’s actually incorrect. I’ve had 3 fresh cycles plus a frozen and my lining have always measured fine. I think my main problem is the embryo quality. So worried the lower AMH might make matters worse. My husband has low sperm count and motility too.
