Hi Running79, congrats on your 11th week and thanks for the advice
Yes I also heard about the correlation of vaccine and uterus, however that was with AstraZeneca. not sure if it's the same for BioPfizer
Ur right, in the end I have to decide... it's so hard cos I have Asthama and I also want to protect myself against the virus but at the same time dont want to have a miscarriage like I did in week 5 already
The study I read didn’t say which vaccine and tbh I don’t trust any of them as there is no hard and fast data to show the long term effects, it’s taken us 6 yrs, blood sweat, tears and £40,000 to get to this stage!!
We are not wasting any of that on something that at the end of the day is an experiment
If you have asthma then yes you are at a higher risk, I don’t have any underlying health conditions. At present I’m working from home and unless it’s the supermarket or the pet shop I don’t go anywhere else where there is other people. So I will continue mask wearing, social distancing and hand sanitising
I will be getting my vaccine once I pass 12 week mark, I would do it earlier but unfortunately I am on steroids and blood thinner and need to wait until I stop these meds before I can get a vaccine ☹️ Here is the link to bbc spot on vaccine during pregnancy, world top doctors are advising pregnant women to protect themselves so I will definitely go by their advice but it is everybody’s personal choice x Good luck with your transfer 🤞
As always, your clinic's advice should be taken before anyone else's. If, like mine, they offer naff all advice then go with what others' clinics suggest, which is that having the jab within a few days of transfer isn't a good idea as you may still have a temperature. At 6-11 days in June you really should be well clear from the second jab. In any case, getting the first jab now will give you some protection even if you then don't then take the second one due to timing. The alternative is to remain unvaccinated - if you then develop COVID before transfer you may not be in any fit state to do the transfer. There is no clear link between COVID and miscarriage but anything that causes significant fever in first trimester can put you at risk of miscarriage. Personally, I would be jumping at the chance to have a Pfizer jab now if I were in your situ. However, if you are concerned about taking the jab you should weigh up the chances of your becoming infected while pregnant. If they are negligible (ie you can essentially isolate during your pregnancy) that would obviously be different to someone who has to go into work pregnant. xx
There seems to be a lot of differing advice, so I'd stick to the official sources as anything else is unsubstantiated at this point, and speak to your GP and clinic. Good luck with your transfer when you get there 😊 x
There are lots of unsubstantiated claims about the vaccine online but please do have a look at the advice from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists about this. This is regularly updated evidence-based information. There are videos from leading experts here too. rcog.org.uk/en/guidelines-r...
I’m downregging but had an invite to get one this week. I spoke to my clinic who said fine to take before stims so I went for it. My second dose will fall after this cycle.
I’ll be honest and say I fretted a bit but decided that if the cycle is successful I’ll be protected and if it’s not, it could be any number of things, and at least I could enjoy some consoling hugs from friends.
I was pleased my clinic offered a view, less pleased that afterwards they sent me an out of date PHE flyer advising that pregnant women should not have the vaccine...
