Can I pause IVF with NHS?

After a failed FET can you pause your IVF? I want to apply for a job but obviously need to be there for quite some time before I’d be eligible for maternity pay. If I got the job I’d have to ask if I can delay the next transfer. Anyone got any experience of this?

We weren’t eligible for NHS funding but I have seen lots of people pause because emotionally they needed a break and weren’t ready for the next round or transfer just yet. Talk to your clinic and they will be able to advise you better. Good luck 🤞

Yes you can pause your treatment. We did our first cycle with the NHS and froze all because we were getting married. So we did the egg collection in July, then the transfer in November. Its up to you how you play it. The only thing I would check is that if you pause will you go back to the bottom of the waitlist - I don't think so but worth checking xx

Where we are we had to do all our rounds within 1 year so maybe it depends on CCG? They gave us a bit more time after the miscarriages and covid but generally had to do all cycles within one year. All the best with the job xx
