Ivf journal?

This might be a really random post, but I’ve just suffered my first chemical pregnancy which was completely heartbreaking.

I’ve ordered the Zita West’s guide to fertility and have read almost a third this evening, which I have found really helped.

I really want to change my mindset and my attitude as I’m feeling stressed and anxious, but I’m ready to change that when we start the new year and look at what our options are.

I wondered if anyone had ever used a fertility journal or knew of one?! I’m thinking I’d like something with mindfulness activities in / positive affirmations / space to write positive lists and what you can change etc? I’m not sure if it even exists other than in my imagination 😂 but thought I’d ask for any recommendations!

If it doesn’t perhaps it’s a new business venture for me..!! Ha xxx

I’m not sure of any specific IVF ones but my friend bought me a lovely one which includes some of the things you’ve mentioned. It’s here: thebeesknees.co/

It wasn’t my thing in the end but if that is your thing then it’s a beautiful journal and really well designed. Also if you haven’t already tried it, the Mindful IVF app is great xx

This looks beautiful, I’m going to keep an eye for when it’s back in stock. I’ve never done one before, but like the idea of giving me some control back.

I’ve tried the mindfulness app before and I struggled with it, but I didn’t realise there was an IVF one - just downloaded it xx

I was the same. Tried headspace a few times but never really got going properly with it. But the IVF one was a total lifesaver for me. The fact it has specific sessions for each stage of the whole process, even when you are just prepping yourself in the lead up was great. I managed to do it every day throughout my last cycle, and whilst unfortunately it was a BFN I felt the calmest I’d felt in all of my cycles and think it definitely helped (keeping the anxiety at bay!) xxx

So sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy and baby loss. I can't imagine how devastating that must feel. I don't know of any journals but Julia Bueno's book The Brink of Being is important reading for anyone going through IVF or experiencing baby loss.

I never used a journal but I did read the zita west book and found it really helpful along with acupuncture 😊

Thank you, funnily enough I ordered it on Sunday and started reading it last night and already found it a huge comfort.

I’ve been looking at acupuncture, ddI you find it helped? xx

I absolutely did, I had a chemical after my fresh transfer in nov 2018 followed by a natural miss in the January. I’d already had a miscarriage in the September so I was in a bit of a state by the beginning of this year. I found acupuncture helped reset my body and my mind-especially my mind as I was a fragile emotional mess to be honest! the acupuncturist was trained by zita west and I felt I benefited massively from it! It really helped to calm me down, retune my natural cycle too and I’m now 38w pregnant using my last embie from our frozen round 😊Wishing you lots of luck moving forward x

That’s what I’m struggling with at the moment.. my mind. Thank you for this, i think I’m going to give it a try before we go for our frozen round. Did you do natural or medicated? I didn’t know there was a difference until now!! x

I didn’t realise how much of an emotional and psychological toll that ivf has-I don’t think anything can prepare you for it tbh so I was just trying different ways of coping, acupuncture turned out to be the one that worked for me-and I tried everything!🙈I definitely went into my frozen round with a different mindset, it was a medicated round 😊just make sure you take a little bit of time to recover from your chemical first x

Hey Laura! I hope you are doing good. I know how tough it is to deal with infertility. So if you think about anything that will make you feel good. Just go for it. Journal is a great thing to keep track of everything and get it off your mind as well. I used to write a journal before my treatments. It really made me feel good. I hope it helps you too. Your journal can also help other people who are new on this journey. Good luck. Stay blessed. Take care. Bye!

Hi Laura! How are you? I hope you are doing well. Journal is a great thing to write in any time of your life. It reduces stress and also takes a lot of things off your mind. When you write things down, it's also easy to keep a track of them. I have read a lot of IVF journals, they help. Although i opted for surrogacy but i read all types of journals. They motivate and give you hope. It's also a great thing to avoid mistakes. I hope i get to read your one as well. Good luck in writing that. Stay blessed. Bye!

Hi Laura! How are you? I will agree to that one thing, IVF journals do help. I remember when i was ttc, i read this journal online by Stephanie fry. It was just amazing. It helped me a lot and gave me hope to stay strong and keep trying. Anything that can make this journey easier for you, do it. I will definitely try this Zita West's guide to fertility when i opt for my next treatment. Tell me if i can find it online somewhere. I hope things go well for you. My blessings are with you girl. Take good care of yourself. Goodluck! Goodbye!
