I thought you are meant to isolate after 28weeks. I know pregnant people are in my school. Have u had a chat with your union? X

its Easter Bank Holiday so stuck till Tuesday ..... the argument is that I will not be working in red zone so should carry on working..... but not everyone is vaccinated/ covid tested that come to ward.

I'm in Scotland with the NHS and was advised I could work from home after 28wks if my job allowed it. Have you spoken to HR or is it your manager making you stay at work?xx

Good luck! It was HR that suggested to me working from home and sent me some paperwork with guidance so unless that's changed since then you should be allowed!!xx

I'm just waiting for Tuesday morning where everything will be open its just only been given a week to get everything sortrd before I should have finished, her argument is that she will just remove me from a&e and put in a ward where not the best of clients are observed making it more dangerous, and also it will give me chance to put my feet up ..... finding the excuse not very gd x

I dont think that's acceptable to be honest. If they cant put you in a non patient facing environment (which I see below you've asked about admin) then you should be allowed to be at home....that's meant to be the rules.xxx

I'm just waiting to get the updated policy as the excuse is the shielding people are allowed back to work and my argument is that they will be vaccinated im not x

I didnt think that kicked in until the end of April but I could be wrong. See what they say and what the new policy says. Good luck.xx

just take sick leave until youre maternity leave, its very risky for you to stay at work.

If a doctor signs you off up to 4 weeks before your due date, I believe your mat leave starts early :(

Then take few weeks Sick leave, then Annual leave...

I am sure you are ok to work as long as you’re not patient facing. Can you do admin work at all? X

I have worked through whole covid in A&E but never in red zone which is covid .... but u will know urself every xray change /little oxygen requirement has made patuents red patients, its bern tough buy I no they say you are more vulnerable in 3rd trimester so have put up with it all, make sure u get a risk assessment done x

Hi Raxi. I am NHS but in the north west. All pregnant people in my trust were emailed last week to advise that we were not classed under the shielding group, we are under a separate consideration and the guidance hasn’t changed for us so we need to WFH from 28 weeks.

My midwife advised that I WFH from 20 weeks due to being patient facing and we were the worst hit hospital in the North west for COVID patients. I am lucky that I can WFH, in fact it’s much busier at home! Be warned though it’s hard at home, I feel very isolated as normally work in a busy team.

I would speak to HR and your midwife too.

Good luck 🤞🏻

Can you speak to anyone higher up? It’s 28 weeks WFH for everyone no matter about it being nhs, a bank a school etc. Your manager is not above covid 😤🤯🤯🤯🤯 Have you Spoken to OH?

Excellent! Ya shouldn’t have had the extra stress! Hopefully you can breathe and out yourself first now without the stress of having to fight for what is right and safe right now. So glad it’s ok now 💐💐💐💐💐💐👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

I don’t work for the nhs but workFor child services within school environment. My consultant has told me that I need to shield from 28 weeks working from home. My manager is telling me that I can go into shielding but I have to start my mat leave. Which is upsetting as I’d only have 6 months with baby. She is double checking with HR but I have spoken to some people in other HR departments which have told me that if they can’t allow me to work from home and requesting I start Mat leave I can go on sick for covid related which won’t effect my maternity as it isn’t pregnancy related. I am the first person in my department to be pregnant during covid times so it’s all new. Hoping I can I go

Down that route if they begin to be funny. My manager also said

All shielding are back, but all shielding have been vaccinated so they can but pregnant mothers have been advised not to get vaccinated so they have to shield. I work in a unit with 4 others only one has been vaccinated.

I'm sure the maternity guidlines say u can take mat leave as early as 28 weeks, but as long as you go off sick and its not pregnancy related u will not have you mat leave start until u say so xpregnant women don't come under the category of shielded we cone under a different group as u said we will not get vaccinated, and there is more and more evidence that pregnant women are vulnerable in 3rd trimester so have to have social distancing, the updated policy for pregnant women is also on government website x

I think that’s what they thought I would do but obviously not many people do that. They want as much time with baby when they arrive. I was signed off in my last pregnancy 29 weeks due to constant pain and I did have to start mat leave. But this isn’t pregnancy illness is it. I think employers just try it on. I said you’ve put me in a funny position because I don’t want to risk myself or baby but equally I don’t want to not be at work if I’m supposed to be. I should have an update after Easter holidays but you can’t help but worry. Did you manage to get yours sorted? Xx

half and half .....they are making me do admin work but the admin work means still sitting in the ward and half the time patients are not even wearing mask so cone Monday need to have a sit down with manager n see wt the outcome is x
