Cost of IVF drugs

Hi everyone

We're starting IVF soon, we have NHS funding but going through a private clinic (Care Fertility). Do you know if we need to pay for the IVF medication? Or not as it's an NHS cycle?

Hi VLGX, I've just had my NHS Funded treatment through a private clinic, I didn't pay for anything. The only thing I'd have had to pay for if I chose to have it was the embryoscope. Not sure if its the same everywhere, but I would think you wouldn't have to pay for your meds etc. Good luck on your journey xxx

Hi can you please elaborate on nhs funding through private clinic? Can we transfer out nhs funding to private clinic as well...

Hiya, yes when we applied for NHS funding we were given a choice if clinics, one was an NHS hospital and the other was a private clinic (Care Fertility) that accepted NHS funding. I'm really glad we went with the private clinic as they've been so good throughout the whole process. Once you get to the stage of applying for funding you should hopefully have choices between NHS and private clinics. X

Hi, I had NHS funding approval but did not get choice for private clinics. I think it's based on which CCG you are in. Anyways my treatment has strted now after a very long wait, but good to know this that some CCG offer this option. Hope you are keeping well. Thanks.
