I am so relieved. We had our second scan today and the doctor said that everything looked perfect. He STILL won't let me quite relax, but things are looking up!

The wee thing is 9.2 mm, and the heartbeat was 132 bpm. I think the heart is normal for nearly 8 weeks, but I don't know about the size. Does anyone know if that is in an average range or not?? The doctor was rushing off to a delivery at the hospital and didn't say.

If you've been 8 weeks pregnant and had a successful pregnancy, how big was yours at this stage, if you know?

Thank you again for all the well wishes!! xo

EDIT: Forgot to mention, apparently I also have a haematoma. He said this wasn't dangerous, but still, not sure what to expect!

Great news!! I have a hematoma too (but mine has been bleeding). I’ve got my follow up scan this week to hopefully see it’s gone down or better still - away completely! That’s such great news for your scan!! X

Hey LuxFleur,

My shrimp was measuring 9.8mm on week 7 but heartbeat was the same 132bpm. I have learnt to stop comparing myself to every other person out there as we're all different.

I was first worried about the heartbeat as when I googled it said normal should be 90-110bpm for week 6-7... but it is what it is and there's no point stressing ourselves out over little things!

Congrats LuxFleur! It must be a relief to hear that heartbeat 🥰 have you had many symptoms?

I have my scan soon and couldn’t feel any less pregnant. Don’t get me wrong I have had some nausea which was so early on and now disappeared and my chest is sore when I press but that’s it.

Is your next scan now the 12 week one xxx

Thank you! My next scan is in a week, actually, since I'm a very high risk pregnancy. I don't really have too many symptoms, honestly. I don't want to smell any cooking food, and I get nauseous if I smell bad things or if I'm hungry, but I haven't vomited once. I've been pretty tired, and some days could do nothing but sleep. But then I've had a run of a few normal days. Good luck on your upcoming scan!

I’ll keep everything crossed for your next scan but things are definitely positive today!

I did have a couple of food dislikes if I could smell the cooking of it or had to eat it it would make me feel ill but that seems to have disappeared.

Only way I’ll know is the scan so I’ll just have to be patient 😂 xx

Congratulations. 💕 I would keep thinking about your doctor's words - that everything looks perfect! Hold onto that... although I appreciate it must be hard. Wishing you the best for your next scan too. Xxx

Congratulations!! This is great news.

Don’t worry about the hematoma too much, these are very common in IVF pregnancies. You may bleed and you may not. It shouldn’t cause any issues xx

Glad to hear all ia going ok! The haematoma can just be a little picket of blood from implantation. It sometimes just disappears on it's own and is absorbed but can also cause a little bit of bleeding so hopefully it will just be absorbed and not cause you any extra worry!xxx

I had a haematoma too but it caused no issues and was around for the first several weeks. They kept an eye on it with lots of scans. Congratulations!!! Not sure on sizing but your baby is doing very well to get to this stage - a heartbeat!!!!! This is amazing and my nurse said that this scan is the most important one. Try and relax if you can and enjoy it xxx
