Skipped cetrotide !

Hello everyone, i hope this time i get a response on my post . I am stimming , i was supposed to take cetrotide on day 5 and 6 i forgot so the dr told me to take it on day 6 and 7 ( day 7 was my ultrasound which is today) in which he told me he will retrieve on saturday but he cannot guarantee if the follicles have eggs or not . I mught have ovulated when i skipped my cetrotide ... can someone give me any advice .. in afraid to do the retrieval and pay a lot of money and have empty follicles to go and repeat it again .please help🥺

Hi, you should have some further scans before your egg collection and your doctor will be able to tell you if you have ovulated or not. If you’ve only just started cetrotide, I’m surprised you’re going in for your egg collection in a few days - from memory, I was on it for at least 7 days before my collection and had a couple scans to check the growth of my follicles. Good luck and fingers crossed you haven’t ovulated x

I just rang the clinic explaining that i won’t pay what i have left for the last ivf i will be doing so that the follicles will be empty she then contacted the doctor who said i have reached so far to throw everything and not do the collection and on the collection date he will do an ultrasound and act accordingly

How big were your follicles in your scan? It’s an important parameter to know if you could have ovulated prematurely

Actually he did not share with me but i saw on the screen 2 quite big ones and few small ones

He can do a progesterone test tomorrow afternoon and if you ovulated, it will show on the results. So if you want to be sure, you can ask this.

You are reading my mind 🤣i asked the same and he says in recent studies it does not accurately indicate if i ovulated or not . I really don’t know the process and each doctor says something different

It depends when it is taken (how many days after ovulation). 5 to Friday should already show. In any case, that is the only option you have to check. Might not be 100% but there is no alternative
