We were planning to start icsi in 3 weeks time but now upon thinking about it more, what with the vaccine so near in sight which I will probably have in July time, have any of you guys decided to put it off until after you've had the jab? More so for my own safety because if I get pregnant then that will mean I can't have the jab till after baby born which would be Jan. Im thinking going ahead with icsi but then freeze my eggs and have the transfer once I have had my jab so if I do get pregnant then at least I will be more protected than not having it at all. Dilemma!!

I think if you can handle waiting a freeze all ICSI cycle then transfer after you’ve had the vaccine is a good idea as pregnancy does increase risk of becoming unwell with covid. Depends on your other risk factors age weight any other medical problems and how much contact you have with other people in your job. Another option is do a fresh cycle if it works great and just be really careful in 3rd trimester and if it doesn’t hold off transfer until your vaccinated. Hard to know what is best sometimes
I think it depends so much on whether you have any other risk factors, how old you are and how ok you are with waiting..... we’re going ahead with a FET now, but I’m 38 and hubby is 52 so time isn’t on our side , if you feel comfortable waiting it might not be a bad idea 👍😊
If we’re healthy, not in the ‘vulnerable’ category then our immune system is perfectly set to take care of Covid. We will be living with this virus for many years as it mutates, just like we live with the flu every year. IVF puts a lot of added stress on our bodies with the amount of drugs we take and the emotional rollercoaster...I don’t know how much research has been done with the vaccine and how it affects a pregnancy. Do what you feel is right for you 😘
My doc says not.... it’s a moot point - when you do a search on the internet you’ll see there are different schools of thought on it. I’ve had to tell myself that I’m not in control of the process and I have to just accept what is... good luck xx
