2nd round IUI

Hi, I had my first round of IUI in January using donor sperm. I’m single and just want to achieve my dream of becoming a mum. Unfortunately first round didn’t work despite having no known fertility issues. I’m now starting my second round and just wondered if there’s anyone else out there who’s had success after a failed IUI. The first try really disappointed me when it failed and this time round I’m struggling to feel excited for hopeful so any positive stories would be appreciated. I live in England

I’ve ever tried an IUI so no direct experience - but remember that fertilisation and implantation are quite an involved process, and it just doesn’t happen every time! That’s why most couples don’t get pregnant immediately.... you just need to persevere and keep positive, you’ll get there 🤞😊 x

I have a friend who also did donor sperm IUI, was successful on the 4th round and now has a lovely little girl - I think usually it does take a few rounds to be successful, in the same way that it usually takes fertile couples trying naturally a few months. Wishing you lots of luck

Hi GuineapigsruleI was in the same situation as you - single with no known fertility issues and started the journey to becoming a mother by using donor sperm.

I was also surprised that my first IUI didnt work. Unfortunately I dont have a success story to share yet. I've now had 3 IUIs before moving to IVF and ICSI.

But there are success stories out there. Dont be disheartened, every round they learn more about your body and get closer to a BFP. I really wish you every success for your next IUI, it can just time and patience xx
