I’m about to start an NHS cycle soon and I’m really worried about it being cancelled as I only had 3 follicles and two eggs in my first round which was private (I’m 33 with very low AMH). I know every cycle is different and I am trying to stay positive but also want to be realistic/prepared. I’ve gone all out with supplements and acupuncture in preparation so really hoping I get a better response this time.
Has anyone got experience/knowledge of minimum follicles for NHS cycles please? Even better if you’re in Wales!
Thank you Xx

Hey- I just wanted to wish you luck for your cycle. I don't think there is any minimum for NHS treatment. When I was first referred to the clinic by my GP for my initial tests they came back with low AMH and only 2 follicles visible on the scan! My first round of IVF (NHS) I ended up with 4 eggs and two blasts (1 fresh BFN, 1 in freezer). My second round was private and they got only 2 eggs, 1 which made it to day 3 and was put back in. I am now 6 weeks pregnant- very early days but this is the first time I've had a BFP so feels like a big achievement. So I just wanted to share that there is hope with low follicle count. Hopefully at your age you should end up with good quality eggs even if they are few in number. It only takes one! xx
Hi Jane thank you for the reply. That is really reassuring! Congratulations on your pregnancy. Hope you are feeling well and wishing you lots of luck 💫❤️ Xxx
