I has 5 eggs on retrieval and only one was mature. Had anyone had a similar problem with egg maturity?

Egg maturity
I think the maturity can be variable depending on when they trigger. Were the immatures, mature enough for them to finish maturation in the lab?
I don’t think so. They only called and said that 1 was mature. Last time I had 6 eggs and 2 were mature. So I seem to have some problem with egg maturity
It doesn’t mean you have a problem, it’s just hard for all of them to mature at the same time. So it’s a balance of not letting some get too old vs having some immature.
You should ask if they do egg maturation, or switch to a place that does it. Then you can have more useful eggs. My best embryo so far came from an immature egg that they matured in the lab.
What protocol are you? Which drugs?
I read that taking multiple doses of trigger can help.
Hi, protocol plays a big part (in my experience it did). On my first cycle I had 12 eggs collected, 5 mature and 3 fertilised so a huge drop off. But for my second cycle, which was the long protocol, I had 20 eggs collected, 14 mature and 10 fertilised (of which 8 made it to blastocyst). Ask your doctor about possibly doing a different protocol if you decide to go for another round. Lots of luck to you xx
