Another BFN๐ this is our third negative transfer now so something isn't right ๐ญ
Booking to have an ERA and NK cells test. Has anyone done these tests and got the answers you need?
Currently have no more embryos left. My wife will be going through egg collection again in the next 2 months. She is 30, we have thought about PGS testing but the package with our clinic is a lot more. Is PGS testing worth it for someone of her age ?
Feeling heartbroken ๐

I'm so sorry to hear this. We opted not to do PGS testing on our embryos due to age and went for the ERA instead which has worked out for us. I needed a full 24hrs of progesterone more than "normal" ladies. Good luck and meantime hugs.xx
Pgs testing is the check for euploid embryos (the correct number of chromosomes) in he blastocyst, they take a biopsy for this. ERA (endometrial receptivity array) testing is where they take a biopsy of the womb to check when your lining is receptive to an embryo for implantation. Hope that helps.xx
So sorry to hear this, I am just about to start the process for an ERA test, hope we both get some answers. Hope you can have a relaxing weekend with lots of treats xx
Please let me know how you get off with yours. Hopefully I can start my ERA test with my next period ๐Thank you. I'm having a chilled weekend and just being thankful for the other things I have in life.. trying to think positive โค๏ธ x
Thatโs definitely the best way to be if you can. I had a scan yesterday and have started on 5 progynova a day yesterday, we have a date to start progesterone and the will have our endometrial biopsy 9th March! Everything has moved very quickly xx
Iโm really sorry to hear this Hope. My clinic told me that I was 32 they wouldnโt really recommend PgS - perhaps explore ERA/Alice/EMMA first? Hope you are able to take it easy on yourselves this weekend xx
Hi hope. Iโm so sorry to hear this. I had 6 failed transfers before getting pregnant. We hadnโt done the PGS testing. Though if our 7th transfer hadnโt worked it probably would of been our next step.
We did both ERA and nk cell testing. I had high nk cells so I took intralipids on the run up to transfer and after transfer. The era test I found was the best thing we did as I was a day 6 transfer not a day 5. I found out I needed exactly 134hrs of progesterone. Also make sure your getting enough progesterone I realised on previous rounds I wasnโt getting enough on the round we got pregnant I was on 700 mg of progesterone.
And the final thing my clinic did which I never heard of before was they gave me an infusion of a drug called atosiban right before transfer, I do believe this worked.... what it does is stops the uterus from contracting after transfer so it prevents your uterus from rejecting the embryo. Hope some of this helps. Please donโt give up you will get there. It wasnโt an easy journey for us either and I thought we would never get there but after 6 egg collections and 7 transfers we are now 26wks pregnant. Ita like putting a jigsaw puzzle together ๐ good luck xx
Ahhh wow seems you had a tough journey.Your message is giving me hope, thanks for sharing that ๐ I'm glad you got the answers from those tests
We have decided to do NK Cells test / ERA.
I did have my progesterone levels checked before transfer and they were low. They increased by adding X1 lubion injection (I was already taking 3 cyclogest a day, I think that's around 625mg per day), I'll have to double check with my clinic.
My wife is going to have her egg collection next month (I'm then planning on carrying her eggs) she has been preparing herself incase this transfer failed, by taking C0Q10 vitamins and a few others. Plus cutting out any alcohol and caffine. Fingers crossed we will have a better bunch of embryos next time around ๐
If you have any tips on ways to improve egg quality or advice, would be really helpful ๐
I'll ask my clinic about astiban..๐
Thank you so much for your advice. I really appreciate it x
My wife and I have just had our second failed transfer and we are going to look into ERA, NK testing and anti coagulation blood tests too. I was also talking to my acupuncturist who recommended Alison Savory who specialises in Chinese herbs for fertility. She suggested my womb lining might be too thick by the time of transfer so maybe I wasnโt getting good blood flow in the uterus for implantation too.
Good luck for your next cycle ๐ค๐ป. Inbox is always open if you need a chat xx
Sorry to hear about your failed transfer. It's heartbreaking each time ๐
Good luck with your tests. I hope you get the answers you need. Let me know how you get on with them ๐
I'm going to book in to start my tests hopefully with this period. I feel it's been a long journey but fingers crossed these tests will give me some answers ๐ค
So sorry to hear ๐ข Iโv really struggled with our negative this time. Dark thoughts about what if this never happens. I feel like someone has died ๐
Totally understand, itโs so hard not to get overwhelmed. Weโve really tried to take it one day at a time this week, thinking or planning ahead was just making things worse.
So sorry about your negative test. Itโs heartbreaking ๐
I had 3 BFNs before doing an ERA test which showed that I need an extra day of progesterone before transfer. So like @teenytiny we will do our next transfer on day 6. Hoping this is our answer!! Xx
So sorry to hear this. Our embryos are all PGS tested and I have had an ERA and my NK cells tested. We made a lot of changes to our last transfer as a result which currently has been successful. Iโm 42 now so I canโt say for sure if I would have done PGS testing at 30 (and wasnโt doing IVF AT 30). Perhaps start with the ERA and NK cells in the first instance if you can? Xx
In really glad you got the answers you need from those tests and it all worked out ๐
Yeah we have decided that doing the NK Cells text and ERA to start with. I'll keep you all updated on how I get in. Wish me the best of luck ๐ค๐ค xxx
Hi my wife is 31 and we ar won our 3rd fet. She had a miscarriage on the first and a failed cycle on the second. For this cycle weโre on now we did the nk cells test which came slightly elevated but nothing crazy. Regardless we decided to do the intralipids treatment after one of the nurses in the clinic recommended it strongly. We got a positive pregnancy test yesterday but with a slightly low hcg level of 67 so we need to repeat it on Monday to confirm.
We asked several doctors about the NKcells and the ERA. We spoke to 3 doctors. They all agreed that the intralipids had some evidence of helping women who had had miscarriages or failed cycles. With regards to the ERA the attitude from all of the, was like โeh you would do it and it would be good information to have but I donโt think itโs the make or or break it factorโ. Nevertheless, if your wife has an uncommon transfer window the ERA can identify that if itโs significant. Good luck.
Hi, Iโm so sorry, itโs really difficult to go through IVF and get a BFN...
We have done PGS testing and we are 17 weeks pregnant now, this was our second PGS tested transfer, the first one ended with Chemical pregnancy...
Iโm 36 and had a few miscarriages before this pregnancy. PGS testing was something that clinic offer to us to increase our chance. Iโm really happy we went that route. We havenโt done ERA and seems like we didnโt need it...
Iโm sorry about your BFN. I also received had my 3rd failed cycle this week and have decided (after a double transfer of my last two frosties this month, both very low grades) to do the ERA test and PG testing (Iโm 34) should I have another failure... I feel I need to get all boxes ticked! So I donโt have experience with this or a positive story get but in the same mindset as you test wise!
I had a failed cycle and couldn't understand why so we opted to do the ERA test and I needed a full day less of progesterone. We are now 8 weeks pregnant with a PGS tested embryo. I am soo soo glad we did the ERA as it told my doctor exactly what my body needed to implant
