Bloated!!

Hi All. I always find myself here when I need advice, you are all so helpful!

So tonight is my 7th day on menopur and I'm feeling very bloated. Sorry for the tmi but my bowel movements have never been the best. So the nurse suggested I go on lactulose. I'm day 7 on the lactulose and its just giving me wind 🤣

My question is, did anyone else feel bloated on their stims? Or is it the lactulose 🤭 my left ovaries (i think) feel a little tender too. Any advice for the bloating? Or do I just need to ride it out.

Thanks all, hope everyone is OK xxx

Hi I was wondering how you were getting on , I’m on day 6 of stims , I’ve been feeling bloated too & slight twinges. I’m also having a little discharge but only tiny bit.

I always suffer with bloating due to endometriosis, I have an actimal drink ( probiotic ) every morning which I think helps with going regular & drink plenty of water xx

I’m doing ok thanks , just feeling a little tired but not too bad , I find the injections a bit tricky I’m on Meriofert ( have to mix ) getting the hang of it now. Hope all goes well at the scan tomorrow, I have mine wed.

Hope ur feeling ok apart from bloating X

My medication (meritfert which as I understand it is basically the same as menopur) made me so bloated. I was bloated from about day 2 of starting my cycle until I came off pessaries at 12 weeks pregnant. At 12 weeks I went from having a 'bump' to a flat (ish) stomach again for a few weeks. I literally looked pregnant before I was. I think it's totally normal and might be one that you have to just ride out. Obviously keep an eye out for any symptoms that could be OHSS, but as you're getting regular scans etc so you're in good hands to make sure this doesn't happen.

Wishing you all the luck with your cycle xxx

Hi London, thanks for your reply. Yes I thought so much, I'll just keep an eye on it, I have my first scan tomorrow so I'll know more tomorrow. Xx

Hi Melonay. Oh dear! Stimulation drugs are often responsible for bloating. Just make sure you drink plenty of water, just in case your ovaries are working a bit overtime. All will soon settle. Diane

I was really bloated too and suffer normally with constipation regardless of how much fibre/water or movement I do! So stims and progesterone made it all worse. I took lactulose too - advised that one was ok, but like you it gave me more wind 😂🙈 I mentioned it on here and one lady replied saying perhaps take less - as it still helped her, but gave less bloating. So 10 ml instead of 15-20 ml. Sadly my bloating is still pretty bad at times, on a night especially - but ever so slightly better than it has been. Currently 12 weeks pregnant. But some days it was quite uncomfortable. Constipation is better, but I still bloat more or less daily! I stopped taking lactulose 2-3 weeks ago though.

Good luck for EC!! 🥰🤞

Haha we sound identical with our bloating and wind 🤣 ill try taking less as like you its not actually making me go the loo, just making me windy. Thanks for the advice and congratulations xxx

I was so bloated with Menopur as well, but it dissipated once I did my egg retrieval (I was overstimulated so I froze all my embryos). For constipation, I took fiber capsules (similar to Metamucil) that I got on Amazon and they worked really well. You just have to drink ALOT of water when taking them so you don't get dehydrated. Best of luck!

Aww its awful isnt. Do you mind me asking how many follicles you had which was classed as over stimulating? I'm not sure if I'll be heading that way too xx
