I'd like to thank you all for your lovely supportive words due to my miscarriage last cycle. That really helped me passing the tough time, it was a hard experience to lose everything in moments after seeing a positive test for the first time in my life 💔.
But here we are continuing the coming cycle to trensfer another frozen embryo 🤞
I have some trust issues with the health system over here (Netherlands).
In my last FET I did a natural cycle, so no medication at all ( all what I have is the trigger shot a week before the transfer day) on transfer day I didn't got any blood check or lining check NOTHING only directly transfer after 7 days of my trigger shot .also I didn't got any progesterone or supportive medications during the 2WW which confused me and I asked the doctor, she answered me that there is a research that proved that no medication can prevent a miscarriage to happen so they don't give any!
Also I asked for a blood check to make sure of my HCG since my positive test and they don't do this also. They only depends on the urine test.
I asked about the genetic check of the embryo after 2 failed transfers and they told me that this if forbidden in netherlands and also it's forbidden to transfer more that 1 embryo. I am so disappointed and mad! What kind of system is that!
I tried to search for private clinics or private doctors doesn't exist!! I can't imagine that! Only at hospital.
I don't know... I am so frustrated and need your advice so bad 😢
Does anyone had a same experience? Or tried the dutch health system before?
I am sorry for the long story..

Hello Hanahana,I can't help you with any information about the Dutch health system as I am in UK but my clinic isn't keen in multiple embryo transfer either, they always say that when it's a top quality embryo they don't do more than one due to the risks multiple pregnancies involve for mum and babies. They also don't test progesterone levels before transfer nor HCG afterwards. When I asked about HCG they said it causes more stress than anything as women get obsessed with the numbers, a test in urine is supposed to be reliable enough. I also asked about embryo quality and PG testing ( I've had 2 failed implantations and a MC with supposedly top quality embryos), they said they would need to send the samples to the US, it's very expensive and only tells you about number of chromosomes, no other genetic abnormalities. I am a bit confused too, as many women here are offered those test, but I think different clinics give different advice and have different approaches. I have 2 embryos left in storage and if they don't work and I have to go for a whole new IVF cycle I will consider other clinics. Maybe do some research and try to find a other options? Good luck! X
Hi we have the same systems in France. I did 4 cycles. All FET is no medication not even the trigger shot, I had 7 transfers in France, ended up with 2 miscarriages and 2 chemical pregnancy. I suffered a lot but the system still doesn’t allow PGS! No check of progesterone after transfer until miscarriages. They don’t even check my TSH level which is probably high for many years. My advice is to change the clinic anywhere that you can have more options. Many European countries have a lot of restrictions. My new clinic is in London. I just left my embryos freeze in France, totally lose hope with them, even the treatment is for free for 4 cycles but I cannot waste my time there!
I can totally understand what you have been through.. I'm struggling the same problem, also here it's free for 3 rounds of IVF and I'm still in round 1 as I had 4 embryos. 2 lefts for now. Finger crossed 🤞
But if it won't work I would definitely go abroad and not waste my time
Hey there! When researching i found that if your cycles are regular a natural fet (which you had) has same outcomes rates as medicated. Ladies that dont hve regular cycles will do a medicated one. Thats when you get the medication prior and past the transfer.
Also many nhs (perhaps not all) clinic dont test your hormone levels. They dont even do beta tests. Pgs testing is also not done on nhs.
I share your frustration as i think perhaps more progesterone can save some pregnancies. But without testing how will you know.
Have you looked into belgium? I know some ppl from NL are reported to go to BE when they finish their free cycles in NL. Xx
I didn't check with belgium.. I am still in round 1 of IVF as I had 4 embryos and only 2 lefts for now.. There's still more 2 free rounds in netherlands but I'm not sure that I want to repeat rounds without any more checks.. It's very un logical to try the same thing for 3 full rounds without any changes or more checks!!
If my coming 2 transfers won't work. I would prefer to go to Turkey or Jordan as I heard they do all deep checks and allows to transfer more than 1 embryo.
I hope that it will work for me and won't need to travel abroad 🤞
I am with a clinic in Czech Republic and they allow PGS tests but they also dont test for progestetone. I have 3 frozen embryos there that have been PGS tester (I discarded 6 abnormal embryos that jad wrong number of chromosomes). They will also allow you to transfer one or two embryos. Im 42 so have no free NHS IVF left but they didn't offer PGS, and only retrieved 4 eggs as opposed to the Czech Republic clinic that harvested 17). PM me if you want any more info about the clinic. I will be there later this month. Good luch
Hi, good luck with your next 2 frozen embryos. If they don’t work and you decide to go abroad, please see if you can go somewhere where they will check your progesterone levels as I’m sure this made all the difference for me - please read my post on the importance of getting progesterone checked. I wish you the best of luck on your journey. Hopefully you’ll have success from your first round - even with no issues it can still take quite a lot of attempts before you get pregnant so don’t lose hope. It’s rare for a lot of women to fall pregnant through ivf on the first and second transfer I believe - usually takes a few attempts. Obviously some people are very lucky first and second time but many many aren’t. It took me 3 rounds and 8 transfers and a miscarriage before I had my progesterone levels checked - very low - then changed my progesterone support and got pregnant and stayed pregnant and now have a son. X
I believe that they checked my progesterone levels 2 years ago since I started with the IUI and IVF journey and was good. That was it for them to consider that my hormones are good and never checked again. Which is a bit confusing because hormones always can be changed..
I was never checked until the time I got pregnant so have no idea what my levels were like to start with so at least you know your levels can be naturally good xxx
