CD1 Baseline scan .... cycle cancelled!!

Hello , just wanted to give a quick update .

After waiting for ages for my period to arrive it did finally last night 🤦🏼‍♀️ Consultant had already rang me earlier in the day said let’s look at re gigging the plan and start maybe again at the end Feb... but anyway it arrived and they squeezed me in this morning for a scan .

They could see about 8 follicles I was like that’s amazing but they were all too big for cd 1 and I’m on a full flow period !! ???!!?

Here are the sizes :

Left : 2 x 18mm 2x 26 mm 1 x 14mm 1 x 13mm

Right 2 x 18 ...

I would have loved these sizes at the end of my treatment last cycle they are just no good now at the start...I only had 2 last ivf

The nurses did not want to provide any more info but said that my consultant will ring me later to talk through what’s happened and what’s next .

I will continue to update when I get it but if anyone else knows any reason why this has happened that would be great ... I want the treatment to go well so will wait now to what the consultant advises when he rings I’m guessing this must be somehow linked to the testogel but will also wait to see what he thinks and hopefully start again soon !! But I also will be baby dancing too 🤩🙋‍♀️don’t want to waste the follicles just in case .

Thanks Rocco , the nurse said that he would call yesterday but he didn’t ... I expect he was pretty busy yesterday. So going to wait until Monday to give the clinic a ring and also an email. I’ve been Googling the hell out of it. 😅 but I’m not getting any answers really ... I think My estrogen level rise is too late to my period hence the large follicle but too late as it’s my period now and on a really heavy flow too ... but I’m just stabbing in the dark really...

They are impressive sizes- what you’d expect if you had been stimming. Hope you get some answers to understand early as possible on Monday, in the meantime hopefully there may be others in forum who may have been in a similar situation will comment, take care x

Yep that’s what I thought too .. didn’t get them when I needed them in my first ivf cycle ... 🙏🏻 can only hope we can get it sorted for my next go take care of yourself too x

Just wanted to update :

Have spoken to my consultant today he said that my size of my eggs would have been great fir mid cycle but not to start stimms . With hind sight he could have started when I spotted 13 days earlier .. but I did say it was no red blood then just a small amount of brown blood so I’m happy we didn’t because this cycle is way off as I am now on a really heavy flow .. though my follicles do not seem to realise this .

I’m to now ring the clinic again when my next cycle starts and then go in for a scan to make sure everything has calmed down then start testogel again for 4 weeks then on the next period day - hopefully start then with all things back to where they should be in my cycle . I’m happy with all of that in the next plan so fingers crossed time goes quickly xxx take care all xx

Hi Daisy. Glad you spoke to him and have a clear way forward. The next few weeks will fly by. Did he say why the follicles were so big?I will be starting on the tostran once it’s delivered hopefully Wednesday x

Hi Rocco he didn’t say why .. I didn’t ask further really but he was keen to start the testogel again because he was pleased with the results all be it mixed up in the cycle ... I’m sure you will do great on it too and I’m just taking it as a blip in the cycle . Will keep an eye out too on your journey ! Take care and good luck ! X
