Has anyone had been able to purchase micronised DHEA online recently please? I’ve seen lots of recommendations for Biovea.com, but they don’t sell the micronised version which I believe is better for absorption.
The consultant who undertook my first IVF cycle review isn’t sold on it. She said that there are ‘mixed reviews’. However, there’s a pretty strong case for it here:
I’m aware of the need for testing when taking it, so if I can find some online I may have to order the tests myself from Medicheck as Rebecca Fett suggests. The consultant said that they’d be including testosterone gel in this cycle which she says basically does the same thing as DHEA. However, from what I’ve read I’m not convinced that is the case.
Does anyone have any experience/knowledge to add please?

I always get mine from iherb in the US and get the micronized by the brand MRM. I’m not sure if shipping is delayed at the moment but it’s also really good value xx

My first consultant gave me that waffly “you can try it, it probably won’t do any harm”, the second consultant did give a bit more advice and told me to stop it the day I started stims.
I take it you have low amh? I didn’t actually test anything for the first year or so of using it, I kind of took it in 3 month bursts prior to my first two rounds. I did have my testosterone tested at some point for something else, (when I wasn’t on dhea) and that showed it was low.
After my first couple of rounds I moved clinics and stayed on dhea pretty much for 18 months with the odd 1 or 2 month break, and I suddenly started conceiving naturally, in fact have done 5 times I think. During one of my breaks when I wasn’t taking the dhea I did test my dhea-a and it was pretty low in the range so seems I was safe taking it.
If I were to advise you, I would say it’s worth testing testosterone and dhea-s before starting it. It’s not much expense.
It’s good that your consultant is putting you on testosterone gel, it’s correct that it would do a similar thing however I think (I’m not 100% though) that dhea raises both oestradiol and testosterone so I think that helped my eggs as my estrogen was also very low in range. But you wouldn’t want to be on the gel and dhea I wouldn’t have thought.
DHEA helps and there is a meta analysis that supports it. But it helps the eggs quality on the beginning of their recruitment. So you need to take at least 6 weeks before. The testosterone during the cycle won’t have the same effect
I use fertinatal 25mg 3x day. It’s more expensive but I think they have good reputation. Also CoQ10 300x3 day. My day 2 AFC went from 3-4 to 9-12 in months so must have some effect
I've bought mine from McPherson Labs in the USA, their site is dhea.com.I think there are shipping delays at the moment, but fingers crossed my second order will still get through.
Like you I got it after reading It Starts with the egg, and getting my testosterone and DHEA-S tested. It's hard to be certain but I do believe it really helped my egg/embryo quality during my 3rd egg collection (6 good blastocysts, compared to 1-3 from my first two rounds which were also lower quality).
I get all my supps from iHerb in the US - they do quick shipping with DHL and it is very reasonable. I would strongly advise you to get your DHEA tested (Medichecks do it) because it is not something to mess with. I assumed mine would be low and bought some DHEA while awaiting my Medichecks test kit, as I was getting close to starting IVF, but my level came back in the upper half of reference interval despite being 39 and on an asthma inhaler (which lowers it). So, for now they are staying in my drawer. xx

I ordered from biovea.com £30 - took around 3 weeks to arrive from the states. They also offer discounts on orders if you re order. I take 75mg a day in tablet form
I would suggest have your levels of testosterone and dhea both checked first . I did the same and were normal so didn’t need either - got mine from biovea but don’t need them now I guess
Hi there - I'm on DHEA from biovea.com - which was the recommended place from my consultant. Her advice was to take for 3 months for best effectiveness - and then again to stop just prior to stimulation. So I've been on it for just over 2 months and my next cycle of ICSI will be in early Feb xx

She had low AMH of around 4 and first round she had only two eggs that didn’t fertilise so consultant advised 3 months of the DHEA. She also took Omega 3 and other vitamins. This was July. Had another round in January after taking the DHEA and this time had 11 eggs, 8 fertilised and 4 , 5 day blastocysts. She had 1 aa implanted and is currently 10+3 weeks 🍀.... also 3 frosties .She was also on progesterone pessaries twice a day and Lubion injections.
We feel it did add to her success...... and she also totally revamped her foods and stopped any caffeine, artificial sweetener in anything. Ate more nuts and no processed foods as such to give every chance there was.

Wow those are amazing numbers! Huge congratulations to your daughter. My AMH is lower but I’m really hoping the DHEA and adjustments I’ve made over the last few months will help getting a few more eggs on my next round. I agree, you have to have hope 🙏🏼✨🍀 Xx
Thankyou....still a way to go but being hopeful.We looked at this website, I have the link. Very interesting for foods etc and if you get to the stage for increasing and building a healthy lining....one thing we read about was to keep your feet warm all the time as it affects blood flow to the uterus apparently so she had two pairs of socks on at home and kept them up with a rug over in the evening - handy as it was snowy outside.
