Hi 🙋‍♀️ started taking DHEA 25mg daily a month ago. My cycle is usually 28-32 days but average about 30 days. Today I’m on day 35 and the pregnancy test is negative. I’m a nurse so when i’m in work tomorrow I’ll get my hcg and androgen level checked. Just wondering if it’s the DHEA that’s caused a delay. Has anyone else had this happen? Thanks Lisa

Period late, negative test on DHEA
Hi Jokiekin, im in the same boat. i read the book it starts with an egg and have been on the advance fertility vitamin supplements since 1st Dec. I'm taking DHEA 3 x 25mg a day and many other vitamins. My period is now 34 days late. im never late other than when i have a failed iVF cycle. i am really worried. part of me thinks i should stop but I've done a lot of research and people the vitamins will help in the long run. lucky you can get yourself checked. fingers crossed x
I started them on the 3rd December, so similar time. I’m sure it’ll be the DHEA, the other supplements should be fine. Xx
im also on Ubiquinol 400mg, alpha lipoic acid 250mg, n-acetyl-lCysteine 600mg, methylfolate 400mg, VD,C and E and pre natal one a day. i started taking all these in dec as the book recommends. honestly i feel like a pill popper, every 30mins im taking another one.
I’m on all of that too xx
I had my bloods done on the 29th December, and the androgen and testosterone level was normal. Testosterone was at 1.4, before starting DHEA it was 1.7. I carried on taking the DHEA for another week so 5 weeks in all and then it took a week for my period to show up. So my cycle was 6 weeks in length. I’ve just started a letrozole cycle now, see how this goes x
I did have some brown spotting for about 3-4 days on day 25 of my cycle but nothing else. X
I’d imagine it is the DHEA - it’s testosterone based.
Did you have your natural testosterone levels checked before taking them?
Yes I had bloods done just before starting them and testosterone was within the normal range. I’ll let you know what my level is when I get the results back. I’ll carry on with the DHEA until then xx
please do i would love to know as well. i didn't have my levels checked as the doc said 75mg is very minor to affect the body.
If your levels are within the normal range then you shouldn’t really take it....there’s a reason it’s not licensed in the U.K. it can actually decrease fertility if taken with no medical need?
Think the research says to try and get the level to high end of normal. I’m an advance nurse practitioner so at least I can get it monitored at work, I’ll get my levels checked in the morning and I’ll add on hcg too just incase x
I started taking DHEA 3x25mg a day last August- first couple of cycles was a late but now its settle back down👍 may just be your body adjusting and nothing to worry about. I also notice if I've had a stress time at work, or have been bit lazy on the diet or exercise my cycle can change. Or maybe as its im heading to 40 this year🤣 hope it settles down for you X❤
Thanks for your reply x
I’ll see how I get on this cycle of letrozole with monitoring from clinic. I might try the DHEA again following this. My AMH is very low
