Reduced number of follicles after Gonal f injection

Hi all,

I have started with Ivf treatment and my doctor did the scan before starting the stimulation and I had 13 follicles on start of the stimulation, which according to my doctor was sufficient to start the stimulation. After 3 days of taking gonal F 225iu injections I had my second scan, which showed only 6 follicles remaining and my doctor had to stop the cycle . My query is :can follicles reduce in number like this ? I am getting very stressed about it. Would really appreciate your comments. Thanks

My left ovary had fewer at Day 9 than at baseline (5->2) but then my right had increased so we were moved onto EC. I was on meriofert. The doctor just said “these things happen” 🤷‍♀️
