Same sex couple IVF NHS Funded

HI. Any same sex couples had/having NHS funded IVF.

Have a couple of questions that maybe someone could help with. Thank you xx

It really comes down to where you live. We were extremely fortunate and had funding when which results in our son (x6 IUI & x3 IVF if needed). We fall pregnant on the 6th IUI. The funding didn’t include donor sperm.

Ah yes it does. We don't receive funding for IUI but if we've paid privately for it and its failed were entitled to 2 rounds of IVF. congratulations on falling pregnant xx

Amazing thank you. Can I ask, was your first appointment a consent appointment. I have my first app in just iver a week. Where we need to sign consent for everything. Apparently after that the drugs are arranged to be delivered to us?! Was this the case for you? Xx

We went through the consent paper work, what to do for the cycle (medication, appointments, etc). If they haven’t done a scan they may do a scan.

Fab, did they arrange for the medication to start? If so how long after that consent appt would you say you were starting? Sorry for all the questions I'm new to all this

It depends on your next period and how busy they are. They will probably ask for you to call on the first day of your period. When I had IUI I would call first day of period, they would arrange a scan appointment and then I would start my medication after the first scan.

Have you already organised your donor sperm?

Ah yes I see. Ill actually be on my period on my appointment day, so I suppose it'll start at my next period in jan. Yes the donor is all set up and ready to go
