Was anyone successfully pregnant when peri menopausal
Hope your ok hun, is that what your dr has said ? Are you doing ivf at the moment or trying to conceive naturally?
I was trying naturally, saving up for ivfDid you become pregnant
Ahh ok I did get pregnant twice both ended in miscarriages unfortunately, currently doing IVF. I dont have any experience in the peri menopausal stage hopefully one of these lovely ladies can help x
I initially was told that I was peri menopausal as my oestrogen levels were the lowest my consultant has ever seen. After various laparoscopies and 2.5 yrs on HRT I’m delighted to say that with my first round of IVF I’m 7+2 and had my first scan yesterday and all looks good so far!
Best of luck, I never thought I’d even produce eggs let alone it actually working! Am just praying this little peanut stays in place!
Really how old are you? I guess HRT is the same as hormone medication
I’m 40 next year and been on femoston 2/10g!
I am 44 next month, what is this medication how is taken
I was prescribed it by my consultant. It’s pretty much like taking the pill, you have 2 weeks of progesterone and then 2 weeks of oestrogen (obvs more to it but in a nutshell!) it encouraged my uterus to grow as it had shrivelled up and helped my periods to start
Any side effects?
I still have periods
Are you sure you are peri menopausal? I assumed I was as I have hot flushes in the night and the length of my cycle varies but my doc said I am not.
My periods are irregular I have pcos
When you say irregular, do you mean that your cYcle length varies or do you mean that you sometimes miss a period?
This month shorter 4 days earlier
Well, you are not in peri menopause. Sounds like you made the same mistake as me. The definition of peri menopause is when you miss several periods. Then it can be ascertained by certain blood tests (ostradiol). They are plenty of people who have pcos and irregular periods and conceive.
I hadn’t had a period for about 6 years, mostly due to the contraception I was on and then it never came back when I came off it, hence the perimenopausal chat and HRT for 2.5yrs.
So glad your pregnant seems so basic and yet complex. One question do people come up to you
Hey! The end of your question seems to have been cut off, what were you going to ask me? X
Was any side effects to the treatments you had to undertake
Yes & yes. I was 48 when I started treatment and 49 when I had a successful round (3rd DE round) currently cuddling my absolutely perfect 6m old daughter who arrived a few weeks before I turned 50. Breastfed for 6m, just stoped, and expecting to head back into menopause... worth every bit of anguish along the way... I recommend DE to any older woman. I swear if I were to have another child with my own eggs I wouldn’t love it differently to the one in my arms right now. It’s amazing - she looks like me & she loves me like I’ve never been loved - good luck ladies xxxx
