Hi all I’m one day post egg collection and was told today only 2/5 eggs have fertilised. This is my first ivf round and I guess I’m just looking for any tips or ways to stay positive over the next 48 hours x

Hi there, we had exactly the same - only 2/5 fertilised but both made it to day 5 being top grades! So there’s still hope 🤞🏼💕 good luck x

Hi Poodlemumma0 keep positive, things might work out great. What is your age? If you are in your 20s or early 30s, you have a higher chance of making it.

I watched lots of feel good movies to try and keep my mind occupied during that 5 day wait. Ate good comfort food like home made soup and went for some gentle walks. This is also my first round and I had two eggs, one of which made it to blastocyst stage. I found the fact that the eggs even fertilised reassuring because it told me there’s hope even if this round doesn’t work out. Wishing you lots of luck xx

I had 1 out of 6 and that 1 made it all the way to day 5 blast. Anything is possible. Good luck 🫶🏻 x

That is amazing news. Did you take any supplements before IVF and how many cycles did you have?

This was a few years ago for my only NHS funded round. But I took no supplements and didn’t stop drinking or eat a healthy diet. I had a double transfer and the 3rd wasn’t good enough to freeze. I was very new to it all then so I didn’t ask many questions and have no idea what grade my 2 transferred embryos were. I would have tried with my own eggs when I started IVF again this time but I wanted a refund package which I could not get on due to my age.

100% stay positive, I had what I thought was a disaster when only 3 eggs collected then only 1 fertilised… but that little embryo is now my 2 year old perfect little boy 💕 Good luck 🍀 xx
