Trying naturally with low morphology, any success stories

Hi, given the long wait to start our next FET cycle due to Covid we’ve decided to try naturally again just in case miracles happen. My partner has low morphology, I think when he last tested it was at about 2%. His motility was fine and count really high. I have mild PCOS but ovulate quite regularly. Is there anyone in a similar situation who has a success story they could share or advice on how it worked please - supplements, how many times you baby danced etc?

Hi Harlem, my husband has 1% sperm morphology. He was advised to take proxeed twice daily alongside his usual supplements. He also tried reflexology weekly which is recommended for a minimum of 12 weeks as it takes three months to produce fresh sperm. He also cut back on alcohol and excessive gym activity which can also impact sperm morphology (he was boxing 5/6x per week so was told to limit to 1/2x per week). Hope this helps xx

Just on the morphology testing - I think this can be quite variable as the lab quantification technique isn't that accurate. If his sperm count is high I think there's still a really good chance. My partner's morphology was on the lower side but we had 14 eggs fertilised. Go for trying natutally, it can only add extra chances! Good luck. Xx

Hiya, I’m a bit of a success (we have a son by some miracle) and a failure story (long term secondary infertility)...... We conceived after 15mths of trying naturally when I was 34 and had our son 5yrs ago. Since then no pregnancy at all despite 5 rounds of IVF and trying naturally every cycle. Our tests started with 0% morphology 😲 (all other parameters are normal) and a large varicocele. I have PCO tendencies myself but seem to ovulate regularly like yourself. We’ve spent years trying to figure out how to replicate the conditions that allowed us to conceive and making improvements to supplements, diet, lifestyle etc. I have a long profile write up so I won’t repeat it all here.

In general to improve sperm my husband takes: proxeed, impryl, ubiquinol, high dose fish oil and general multivit. We’ve reduced: alcohol, red meat, cycling. We’ve increased: spinach and watercress salads, general Mediterranean diet. It’s only in hindsight I can see just how lucky we were to conceive at all, I’m sorry I know that’s not actually helpful. I can’t really provide any guidance, I can only show that it is possible to conceive naturally with low morphology against all odds, you just never know xx

Hi Harlem. All I can say is to make sure you have regular sex every 3 days or more often if you want to. This way, you ensure you clear the dead stuff, which every man has, to let those that can swim and are the right shape can get through. Good luck! Diane
