5w5days empty sac any hope?

I had my scan yesterday and the sac was empty, the dr isn’t worried but I am! I’m back in a week to ensure there is growth has anyone had this and had success? I’ve seen stories on line but they were not IVF pregnancies so they thought their dates were wrong but mine cannot be PLEASE HELP

I had a scan a couple of weeks ago at the same weeks and days and the sac and yolk was seen but she said before we started don’t be worried if there’s only a sac just now so she did say that before she done it are you going back in a week ?

Yes I’m back in next week I knew I wouldn’t see a heartbeat so I really thought I would see a yolk at least I wasn’t expecting it to be empty im quite upset

Your honestly still very early and sometimes the yolk isn’t even seen till after 6 weeks so try stay calm till your next scan it’s happened to loads of people and everything’s been fine I was worried too because I was nearly 6 weeks and didn’t see a heartbeat I was expecting to see more too but it’s just so early xx

It’s really too early to see much, you shouldn’t really have a scan this early as no matter the outcome it would drive you nuts having to wait for the next scan.

The good news is, there is a sac, so really.... you’re on the right track at this point?

My OBGYN said that too but she needs to look after me I’m a worrier and they have a team to calm you so she brought me in to help me more than anything in ireland we can’t have our partners in the hospital so he is going to ring her today to see exactly what she said

Just try and remember that worrying just won’t change anything, the next parts are out of our control. The unknown is a killer, but it will alllll be worth it in the end. Xx

Why did your clinic scan you so early? Have you had any symptoms that have made you worry? 5+5 seems early to be scanning and I wouldn't expect to necessarily see anything, and whilst you have had an IVF pregnancy they can still implant late, develop slowly etc.. x

I was scanned early because I am high risk and have a history of miscarriages I’ve always been scanned early but never had an empty sac before

Sorry to hear that, I have a history of recurrent MC too but my EPU will never let me scan before 6 1/2 weeks so as to avoid this sort of head scramble. its such a stressful time and I am so sorry you are going through it xx

Thanks she even said it’s a hindrance coming in so early I just want this to be our miracle story so bad! I did acupuncture today to help in anyway so fingers crossed for Thursday x

Great idea re Acupuncture. The waiting is just the worst isn't it, and the lack of control. I so hope its your time to be the good news story, will be thinking of you xx

Flonatips, I heard this can happen and it’s normal if the scan is done too early.. because of this, my clinic will not let me to do the scan at least until 7week in case I end up worrying after a too early scan.. don’t worry too much and fingers crossed for you xx
