7 week scan yesterday showed an empty sac, no foetal heart beat. Nothing.
We we’re so obviously optimistic as all my pregnancy tests - albeit faint we’re positive... false pretences I suppose.
I have to go to the gynea ward next Friday for another scan to confirm that there really is noting there.
Can anyone advise the worst case scenario at the point? What happens next? We’re under no illusion that there will be a miraculous turn around in the scan...
Good luck with all your journeys ladies. ❤️

Hi, I'm so sorry about the news. I was in your exact situation 4 weeks ago. I had repeated scan a week and 2 weeks after the diagnosis, but there was no improvement. The sac kept growing and hcg hormone was very high - 41789 or so. So we decided to medically miscarry the pregnancy. This means the clinic gives you some medication to expel the sac. They are basically three options: naturally miscarry, medical management and surgical management.
The choice depends on you. I wish you the best in the coming week. It's usually a very stressful one.
But let's be optimistic about seeing improvement on the scan till after you have done it.
I’m so sorry to read this, I went through this last year and after my repeat scan I opted for medical management. As Kumkums has said you will be offered 3 options normally and can chose whichever you feel is right for you x
I'm so sorry - how devastating to get to that stage. I hope whatever option you choose is pain free and goes well and that you can continue on your journey again when you're ready. Hugs xxx
So sorry to hear this hun. Such a cruel journey this is. Just wanted to send you lots of love and big hugs. Hope things turn around for you at your next scan 💗🤗😘
I'm so sorry to hear this! I was told the same thing at 6 weeks. I had to have a couple more scans and some blood tests to see if anything changed. Unfortunately it didn't change so we were given the option of waiting a bit longer to miscarry naturally, medical management (tablets) or surgery. We waited 2 more weeks but nothing started naturally so we went with the medical management. Sending you hugs xxxx
So sorry. All that lost hope is heartbreaking. What happens next will probably depend on your next scan. They may advise a wait and see approach or offer you medical intervention. If you’re having the second scan at your local hospital then make sure they are aware if it was an ivf pregnancy. Otherwise they will try to convince you that you could have your dates wrong. So sorry xx
