Big Congratulations, good news and boost for me who is 43 and has a fibroid making my chances a whopping 5%! I hope like you, I’ll be getting some well deserved luck! 😀
Hi. I was put on blood thinners as soon as they put the blastocyst back in and my consultant wants me to continue these until 36 weeks.
I was always told my progesterone was fine, am on cyclogest 400mg x 2 a day and again my consultant wants me to continue on these for now, plus I also went on aspirin 150mg once a day from ET.
Hello thanks for your reply am on aspirin 75mg I might just take which is 150 what do you think. What blood thinners are you using. What was your progesterone. Thanks ❤️
Aww, thank you so much for sharing this wonderful news! 🎉🎉🎉 So happy for you!!
Please can I just ask if you had “assisted hatching” too?
(We had only one egg which led to one healthy embryo ... but the Embriologist said that the shell was quite “thick” so it may not hatch... and unfortunately it didn’t. I’m therefore wondering if “assisted hatching” would have made any difference, ie creating a tiny hole in the shell with a laser?)
Aww, bless you! Thank you for replying to my question so quickly. I really appreciate it xx And thanks for offering your support too.. that’s very kind of you. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you!!! Big hugs 🤗 xx
Thank you. I had my transfer last Sunday, so think it’s day 8 today. I’m not supposed to test till Friday, but tested today, it was negative, I’m going to test everyday till Friday... gradual acceptance would work better for me lol. Hope your still going strong!!
Just sat down after taking my tablets/ putting tablet in other place (getting ready for FET)and read your lovely post.
It has warmed my heart on a rainy day.
I loved the part about your little one dancing and waving.
Massive congrats!! It really is wonderful to hear some people thrash the tiny percentage chances they give over 40s. And thank you for hi-liting the many medical supports you had. It feels it's not always as simple as the 'it only takes one' mantra. Also, i enjoyed a juevenile little snigger at the phrase 'bum tablets'. Loads of love xx
Unsubscribe my 2 favourite things to laugh at during all this is bum tablets and dildocam 🙈
I am glad to say that now I have hit 12 weeks dildocam is no longer needed! I did have great pleasure pointing out the size of it to my OH at our 8 week scan and he was surprised and he is a doctor!! X
Hi. I do think the combination of blood thinners (which we pushed our fertility clinic to prescribe me) the progesterone and aspirin which we decided to take ourselves (again our fertility clinic didn’t recommend but good old amazon sell!) helped.
I was also on co enzyme Q10 for 6 months but not sure if that did anything.
We ate healthy most of the time but I did enjoy a few small glasses of wine a week all the way up to EC.
Amazing! I will ask about clexane and prontogest but I think hubby and I still at the stage trying to make a healthy embryos (or rather normal) we opted for the PGA testing (I am nervous about this BUT it’s the right thing to do for us). Thank you for your response and congratulations on your baby news
We opted not to test despite our clinic trying to persuade us to do it! It helps having a doctor for a partner! He did lots of research into everything from testing to embryo glue! We had our own agenda and stuck to it!
We have chosen to have the combined screening which they did on Friday. We would never do anything to this baby if there is something wrong but I want to be prepared.
Always do what you think is right that way u will never regret ur decision! X
Oh wow lovely news and much welcomed by this 41 yr old with the same odds of success! It just shows, what a beautiful image , thank you for sharing and giving us hope 💕 x
Ketkoot, forgive the lateness of my response but HUGE congrats. Loved your scan photo and frank description of the progesterone (bum bullets I call them! Haha) hope you are doing well, best wishes from one geriatric over 40 to another!! X
You have given me so much hope! Thank you so much and a huge congratulations to you 🥳💖. I’m similar to you where I’ve had 3 natural conceptions unfortunately ending in miscarriage, I’ve had 2 rounds of Ivf and unable to get a positive pregnancy. Any advice you have is appreciated xx
Thanks so much for your message. We do appreciate how we lucky we were to get pregnant and stay pregnant after 1 round of IVF. Our little 🌈 is currently nearly 22 weeks and kicking me constantly!
I assume you were started on progesterone but Were you put on aspirin or clexane or any blood thinners? You have probably read that my OH is a doctor so did lots of research so we pushed for clexane from EC and we went against our fertility clinic advice and also added in aspirin from ET day. My NHS clinic has kept me on all these meds and will do so until she arrives. We also last minute added in embryo glue even though the evidence for it isn’t great.
I tried not to think about it too much (easier said than done I know!) but I was frontline NHS so that kept me too busy to worry and I didn’t test early! In fact we only had cheap tests in as was convinced it wouldn’t work so had to go out a buy a better one as OH didn’t believe it was positive. Even at that point I think I blocked it all out as thought it would just end up like the other pregnancies. My fertility clinic didn’t do my first scan until I was 8 weeks and I turned up with horrendous morning sickness and still didn’t believe we were pregnant. Even now we get scanned every 4 weeks and the few days before the scan I worry that something is wrong!
Like me you can get pregnant which is a huge positive in my eyes you just need to try and figure out how to get it to stick! Like us if all your bloods have been fine I would say do your research and ask questions to your clinic. If they don’t change something between cycles ask why! If your cycle didn’t work I would say try something new!
🤞🏻crossed for you and all the ladies on here. Message if you need more information on anything! 😘
Thank you so much for coming back to me 💖. I hope you are well. It’s totally understandable about feeling anxious about the scans.
You have been through so much, it a rollercoaster that just keeps giving. You have come so far and doing amazingly, the little is kicking well so that brilliant 🥰.
I started progesterone after egg collection.
On our second cycle I was prescribed antibiotics before I started injecting but that was only because we asked repeatedly for something to be changed other than that it was the same protocol.
I’ve asked for further tests for failed implantation but nothing. I’m producing eggs, we’ve so far had a 100% fertilisation rate which I know we are lucky to achieve 🙏🏻
All have either got to day 5 or day 3 and given good grading they just haven’t stuck 🤷🏼♀️.
They’ve put it down to age 😫. I know it’s a factor but not the be all and end all, but the more I’m told it the more I’m loosing hope.
I’ve asked about clexane and aspirin but they just said evidence had changed and there’s no reason to give them.
We’ve done so much research on supplement that I think I’m rattling with everything I’m taking.
I also went against the clinic and started taking aspirin after our failed cycle jul/aug, I had a natural pregnancy end of Sept! Unfortunately we lost it 😢 long story short I started itching all over my body, it got worse and found my ALT and bilaruben levels were through the roof, mo wonder we lost the pregnancy. They don’t know why it happened.
I’ve been unable to do our last cycle until my levels had come down which this wk we’ve found they have. So we’re now looking to book with the clinic. They are still keeping to the same protocol even though I’ve asked if they can change it, their answer is that it’s working 🤷🏼♀️.
I hoped for a miracle this month but it’s not to be. I don’t understand how I’ve caught naturally but unable to with ivf. Just hope one will stick.
Sorry for the long reply xxx
Congratulations it’s such a relief getting to that 12w scan x
I’m 41 in March I’ve low amh but everything else was ok so no ivf or any other treatment was offered by fertility clinic. I’ve 2 kids and had 5 losses at 37-39 took us 3 years but finally conceived naturally again and we’re 21w today 5 scans and screening all good 😌
Fertility and IVF guidelines are very cruel! We only made it by 1 month to get our free cycle. We have had to have a harmony test as our NHS screening came out at very high risk but the harmony was normal. As much as I love the scans every 4 weeks I dread them too. However when she is older we will be able to show her her development from the original picture of her as a blastocyst and developing every 4 weeks which I consider an amazing thing that not many babies will have!!
