I’m hoping someone can offer some advice regarding Lubion progesterone injections.
I started mine yesterday and have never taken them before (I was advised to have them on top of the pessaries for this cycle after a chemical pregnancy in my last cycle).
I have found them incredibly painful and am getting lumps on my skin soon after administering them (see photo). I read yesterday that someone had advised rubbing the area after injecting which I did this morning but this resulted in an even bigger bump. The area quickly feels very bruised and I struggle to sit and move around due to the pain. Is this normal? Has anyone else had a similar experience?
If anyone has advice to help with this I would greatly appreciated. I am only on day 2 and have been in tears over how I'm meant to continue with these for the next two weeks (and maybe more if I'm lucky enough to get pregnant).

I am also on progesteron injections and the nurse told me that we are not allowed to rub the area after injecting. We should all the time switch the sides, one day on left one day on the right. I don't like to inject in my belly so i am injecting in my thigh. I have here there some small bruises but nothing to be scared of. I would suggest to try in your thighs until your belly will heal and after that you can switch back if you like it more.
I personally find it easier if I stay away from my mid tummy area and stick to doing it kind of on my bikini line but to the left or right and try to avoid injecting in the same site. Also inject the liquid really slowly. I still get the occasional nippy one but not very often and doing these twice a day.xxx
You poor thing 😫 I hated them, I ended up with similar and it was painful. So I decided to do them in my thigh, still hurts, but a lot less swelling xx
Is it itchy / feel like an allergic reaction? I had this, and for me at least my body got used to them and after a couple of weeks it was much less and only happened occasionally.I read about it and this kind of allergic reaction is normal. If it’s really bad, phone your clinic and they may switch you to progesterone in oil (prontogest was what I had) although that has to be injected in the bottom and it was awful for me so I was definitely willing to put up with Lubion. Good luck xx
I found this injection painful last time too. I had it every 3 days and this time it’s been upped to daily so the advice on this thread is handy. Last time somebody advised me to inject slowly and and rub the area and it greatly improved things. Mine never went red or swollen though, it was just very tender. Your picture looks like it could be a slight allergic reaction so I’d check with your clinic and see what they advise. Best of luck x
I was on these for my last FET, I found the area stung all day afterwards but got better as my body got used to it. Hopefully that’s the same for you xx
I alternate each thigh. I also prewarm the vial to body temperature before injecting as directed by nurse. I warm it up by placing between my thighs. I also found using a brown needle better than yellow as it is slightly wider so injects more easily.
