Second lockdown - please don’t shut the clinics

Is anyone else completing freaking out about what a second national lockdown means. I’ve spent most of the morning in tears about this. Our first frozen transfer should be happening in just under two weeks. This is so hard! X

Worried yes, as I've a transfer booked in about 2 weeks like you and currently on meds. Current plan is to keep schools, unis and colleges open, so fingers crossed clinics won't close. My clinic has posted it is open though going at a slower rate with waiting lists, to accommodate reduced footfall. Fingers crossed 🤞 for us all xx

Everything crossed. Thank you for posting. Sometimes you just need to know you are not the only one worried x

Let's all write to our MPs and make the case for not stopping IVF this time. We are not the ones spreading the virus.

This is such a good idea. I’m doing this when I get home. Will confirm once done. Such a good idea

I believe it worked last time. Many of use did lobby and the politicians decided to lift the IVF stop. So it is really worth it.

I’m also really worried. Managed to get one FET in after lockdown which ended in MMC and the only thing keeping me sane is building up to try again. Supposed to be starting another egg collection next week. Gah! Really hope they’ll spare us x

Yes I’m freaking out too, feel anxious 😢 I think it’ll be the HFEA’s decision about closure (depending on government I guess) so I just hope all the hard work and safety procedures the clinics have put in place to reopen are enough 🙏 🙏 fingers crossed for us all xx

I spoke to my clinic in sept as I’ve just Started a private FET and they told me they wouldn’t close again if we went through another lockdown. Doesn’t stop me worrying though ☹️ can’t afford to lose that money x

I asked at my scan this morning and they seemed confident they wouldn’t close. I’m still worried though! X

I'm worried too, going to ring my clinic on Monday 😬

I cant see if they are keeping schools and unis open that they can justify closing clinics, when they have now all the protocols in place to deal with covid. And also its medical treatment, it's not like we are going there for a party!!

So hope it's all ok x

Just in case anyone hasn’t seen the HFEA statement. They’ve said a closure shouldn’t be necessary as clinics now have measures in place to prevent it

So In wales we are currently in a full lockdown, the clinics haven’t closed or stopped any treatment & not planning to as far as I’m aware & these are based in nhs hospitals , they say they are well prepared now not like the first time. Hopefully this will stay the same during all this

HFEA release a statement this morning saying they don’t have any plans to implement a nationwide closure but it was up to clinics to review their policies and procedures to ensure amongst other things that impact on NHS is minimised - someone I know in Leeds has been told their NHS clinic will stop treatment but I imagine because staff are needed elsewhere as they are a bit of a hotspot at the moment

Such a relief for us all x
