Recommended consultants/clinics for second opinion

hoping-for-the-best profile image

Does anyone have experience with seeking a second opinion on treatment protocol, recommended treatments etc? I’m pretty sure my latest transfer is failing and want to get something in place in the new year so I can bring the recommendation to my clinic for my third and final round (I’m tied in with them for one more round). Trying the same protocol over and over does not seem to be working. Any recommendations would be great - I think they need to be via private message if mentioning clinics due to the group guidelines. Thanks in advance xxx

Im not sure what to suggest.......if you are tied into your clinic, are you looking for suggestions from us as to something different for example short protocol instead of long protocol? It may help to give details in your message regarding the protocol you have done with a bit info about yourself etc and what you have tried? If you're looking for clinic suggestions I guess the only thing you could perhaps do is look at some local clinic around you or post the area where you are from and aks for PM messages for clinics and go for a consultation to see what they suggest but this will probably cost you a consultation fee which in the grand scheme of things may not cost too much. Diane Arnold the nurse on here has a list of questions that you can take to your clinic which involves asking if a change in protocol may help etc.xx

It was just to see if anyone had any experience with getting a second opinion and which clinics or consultants have helped people with advice on different treatment plans. I have seen some US based clinics that are well reputed but then saw bad reviews online that you don’t actually speak to a consultant or they don’t give very useful information. We’re willing to pay but don’t want to invest too much in something that may end up being a waste of time if we don’t get the right consultant. There’s a well known London clinic that seem to want a barrage of tests before they will speak to you that would cost close to £1,000, plus the waiting list is long and we just want to get on with it really. I’m located near London but not concerned too much with location for a consultation.xx

Whoa that's a pretty hefty price tag for a consultation I would say! Perhaps some of the others can suggest a clinic in London by PM. Sorry I cant help, Im in Scotland.xx
