6 week scan no sac IVF

Hi,

We had our 6 week scan yesterday at a private clinic and they couldn’t find anything. This is our first IVF cycle and we were 6 weeks and 1 day yesterday. I’m heartbroken and the NHS won’t see us for another scan until next week. Has anyone had a similar situation? I’ve not had any cramping or bleeding, but I’ve also not had any pregnancy symptoms apart from positive tests. I’m praying baby is just hiding and will be found next week 🤞🙏🏻

Hey lovely. Sorry you have this worry. 6 weeks is pretty early to have a scan as heartbeats aren’t always picked up until closer to 7 weeks so hopefully the scan next week will be more promising but I understand your worry and how long away it seems.

Could you possibly have a blood test to check your HCg levels? It’s also so early for symptoms so try not to read too much in to that xxx

Thank you ❤️! I’ve spoken with my doctor and they are going to check my HCG levels tomorrow 🤞hopefully they’ll be able to tell more from that xxx

Ah that’s good. I really hope it’s good news for you. This uncertainty is horrid I know.

Let me know how you get on 💕xxx

Hey hun I'm really sorry to hear this. Sometimes you dont see a heartbeat or fetal pole this early, but I think by now they should have seen at least a sac? Did they check your tubes to rule out an ectopic? I really hope things turn around for you at your next scan xxx

Yea the I was pretty much told to expect the worse. They did check my tubes for an ectopic pregnancy but couldn’t see anything. I’m still seeing 2-3 weeks on digital pregnancy test, but I should be 3+ at this stage, so not sure what is going on. It’s just been such a horrible journey. But thank you for your kind words ❤️Xxx

My clinic will not scan until 7 weeks as they say you can’t always see anything at 6. I looked at all the private early pregnancy scanning places by me and not 1 would do a viability scan before 7 weeks and some even said 8 weeks. There must be good reason for all this so all is not lost. I hope you get some good news next week. X

Thanks for the replies ❤️ My HCG level measured 2,525. The hospital said that is still within viable range at this stage but I need to go back for a scan tomorrow at the hospital. Praying we see something 🤞🙌🙏🏻x x x

This sounds promising!! Good luck at your scan tomorrow but remember you’re still closer to 6 weeks than 7 so may not see much at this stage xxx

Just back from my scan. They seen a small sac in my uterus but couldn’t see anything in there at this stage. I’m 6 weeks and 4 days today, so the doctor said it’s still very early but they warned me to be guarded. I’ve to go back on Thursday to get a further scan to see if there has been any growth ❤️ Just trying to keep positive and pray 🙌🤞🙏🏻x x x
