1 BFP and 1 BFN

Hi all, I was hoping someone might shed some light on this for me? I am waiting to start my 2nd round of IVF but in the mean time have had a few symptoms of early pregnancy. I have done a couple of tests and although it would be early, and because my natural chances are incredibly low, I was amazed to see the test indicating time frame to say 1-2 weeks. However the second test which is just a line indicator has just 1 line, suggesting its a negative. I have repeated this test 3 consecutive days and the same thing is happening.

I don't feel quite as symptomatic as I did 4-5 days ago, so Im not sure if I was pregnant for a short while and not any longer? At least that's the way I am leaning. I am not getting too excited to be honest, don't want to get any hopes up and am aware of my fertility issues, so playing it quite realistic as opposed to optimistic. Does anyone else have any advice or experience with similar test results?

Was the line test with the same urine as the weeks indicator. The other tests you did were they positive or negative. When did you do the tests, with first morning urine? X

Both the same urine, I’ve done 2 tests for the last 3 days with the same urine first thing in the morning, each time.

All have shown 1-2 weeks on the time frame test and nothing on the line tests.

It’s really confusing me and obviously is quite upsetting when you go through what we do with fertility issues and IVF etc

Clear blue time frame test? What line test are you using. I'm thinking your time indicator is correct and the line isn't being picked up coz maybe its a less sensitive one. X

Both are clear blue, so I think that’s what’s confusing me even more! Thank you for the help x

A lot of people say the clear blue line tests aren't great but the fact that your getting 1-2 on indicator is definitely a positive. I really hope you get some clarity soon. Let us, know how you get on. 😘💗

If I remember correctly the clear blue line detects at 25miu whereas the weeks indicator has a 10miu and a 25miu used to date. It could be that the 10miu is picking it up hence the 1-2 weeks reading. I’m thinking back to August here but it does say the sensitivity in the leaflet so check it out. Fingers crossed for you x

Thank you so much for this, I checked this morning and that’s exactly right, the line test has a 25miu and the weeks test a 10miu. That’s helped me at least understand why they could be different.

Of course I did another line test this morning because I really wanted to see a cross but it wasn’t there. I’m guessing I should just wait a few days? x

I actually threw a cb line test say thinking it was negative then on my otd I got a faint positive on an Asda one, cue me digging the CB out if the bin 🙈 to see a very faint positive had come up but must’ve been after the 10 minutes. I then brought some FRERS and it was a clear positive. My lines did continue to progress on the Asda test but sadly it was ectopic . I hope yours progresses 🤞🏻 x

Thank you for your help I really appreciate it, this is all new for me, I had IVF before and so the process was pretty clear cut, this is all unexpected and up in the air. Thanks, I'll hang on until after the weekend I think and then test again x
