Very early BFP then BFN...

I know I shouldn't have, but I caved and tested (3dp5dt and 4dp5dt). It was a very faint BFP on a HPT (the tests were the cheappies supplied by the hospital). To hopefully see a darker line, I tested again on 5dp5dt (on a First Response) and I got a very clear BFN. Feeling disheartened. I am on a natural FET cycle - so no drugs could have caused the BFP. What do you think? Body rejecting the implantation? :(

Hi Emy, I’m really sorry but I don’t know what the answer is here but I didn’t want to read and run.. try and stay calm until OTD and test again.. I would try and stay away from the tests until then! X

I’m not an expert but I’ve heard if you test early it can pick up hormones left in your body from the IVF medication and then it can take a while for the embryo to implant to then get a positive test. So you could test positive then negative then positive again as a result so stay positive.

Hi EmyIt sounds like it may be a chemical pregnancy- basically when embryo tries to implant and hangs in there for a few days then disintegrates. Test again at 7dp and if it’s a bfn, it’s likely to be correct.

Hopefully your urine was too diluted and u tested with a not sensitive test. If like me you drink alot of fluids in the evening ur first morning urine might not be very much concentrated. My chemical tend to happen a bit later on so hope its a wacky test. Stay strong its a horrible few days xx

Thank you for your reply. Really hope it was a wacky test! Just going to wait now for OTD and/or my period...whichever comes first. x

Emy, how long between your trigger injection and testing? HCG is the hormone used in the trigger as well as the hormone detected in the pregnancy test. Could it be that your test was picking up the HCG from the trigger? Xx

Thanks for your reply. I've done a natural cycle - so I tested my ovualtion naturally, no trigger shot. I haven't taken any drugs at all this cycle. I think it may have been a fluke - surely if it was positive I would have seen that on the First Response? Anyway, I think I am just going to wait until the weekend. My period is due and I'm normally like clockwork, so we will see...X
