Bad cramping at 5 weeks and 4 days

Hi everyone,

I am currently 5 weeks and 4 days I have my first scan a week today but since yesterday I have been getting really strong period like cramps - I know it could be ‘growing pains’ but I am so worried that it’s going to turn to something more sinister, is this normal has anyone else experienced this in early pregnancy? People have told me that period like cramps are normal during early pregnancy but this feels like quite intense period pains.

Your at the stage where bubu would be burrowing in deeper my implantation cramps where really intense. I hope its just bubu getting more comfy and your scan goes well. 🤞🏻😘💗

Have you done another test? How strong is the line?

I had really bad stretching/ period cramps around 4weeks and they both ended in miscarriage a week later

I also have stage 4 endo so it could be the stretching of my adhesions

My friend who also has endometriosis also had the same pain and ended with a baby!

I haven’t done another test I did a clear blue digital one on Sunday and it said 3+, maybe I should just do another one to make sure it’s the same, surely if your hcg decreases the test will do the same???

I’m sorry you’ve had 3 miscarriages, it just makes every pregnancy more nerve wrecking you worry about everything!!!

Hi lovely, I'm currently 7 weeks. I never had period pains so had nothing to relate it too but when I first found out I was pregnant I had unbelievable pains ..they took my breath away! It was very low down near my anus ( sorry TMI I know !) Just had scan at weekend and everything looking ok . Do you have any spotting? Keeping everything crossed for you. Xxxx

Hi Kath, congratulations, I’m glad everything went well with your scan!!

It’s funny you say that, I have had pink spotting today only very small amounts and I spoke to the clinic they said pains and spotting are very normal at this stage but that doesn’t make it less worrying! I’ll keep an eye on it and if it gets worse I’ll ask for an earlier scan (got one for the 3rd)

Hi dear , I am 15 week now and I have had cramps until I was 14 weeks. I spotted once when I was 5 weeks. I have had very very bad cramps that I was taken to AnE . I had scans done and also to check for appendix. Meanwhile at 13 weeks I was spotting brown discharge.

I was told my cervix was stretching.

I still get cramps but not as bad as few weeks ago.

Thankyou very much for your reply that has eased my concerns slightly! I guess we just dont know what to expect so any kind of pains are worrying and I have had some spotting today which has highlighted my concerns!

That’s what my clinic said today when I spoke to them it’s just things stretching and not to worry!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope things settle down abit for you it sounds like you’ve had a rough time of it!

Thank you , yes I have been scanned 4 times since I got my postive and have been to AnE twice. I was also having hyperemesis for almost 4 weeks.

I will advice not to worry too much and stay positive.
