Has anyone had success with ivf after first cycle where most of the eggs collected were immature oocytes despite looking ok as follicles? Most arrested at GV stage and only 2 mature and fertilised normally. Embryologist thinks it is probably an inherent problem within me and hasn’t seen it very often therefore just looking to see if anyone has been through something similar?
Thanks.

Yes my first two rounds my eggs were not very immature. I took lots of vits to improve egg quality (mostly due to age) an my consultant realised I needed really big follicles to produce a mature egg so changed my protocol. Basically giving my a higher dose of stims for as long as possible and an extended trigger shot. Made the world of difference to egg collection and fertilisation and I even got frozen ones. That said I never had PGS so unknown as to whether the frozen ones are genetically ok or not but he was able to improve my chances. Xxx
Hi VH. Let's hope that the 2 embryos you have mean business and will divide as they should. The quality of your follicles and therefore eggs can possibly be improved, by lots of different approaches including dietary by adding more protein and zinc to your diet. Acupuncture and hypnotherapy also have been known to improve blood flow to the ovaries, so you may want to try those. Hope all ends well. Diane
I had immature eggs too which I assumed was due to my dimished ovarian reserve diagnosis. Any mature eggs I got were poor quality. So I understand your disappointment & frustration. Stay focus on the 2 that fertilised normally, hopefully they will continue to divide & develop into viable embryos. 🤞🏻 Best of luck Xx
Sadly although we had 2 5 day embryos (they didn’t make it to blast) transferred it hasn’t worked. My period started 10 days post transfer. I’m 35 and my AMH is a bit high but everything else seemed ok. I’ve been getting acupuncture already but will have a wee look at dietary changes as suggested. Thanks all. It’s really helpful to hear others experiences.
