I think there’s something wrong

So for anyone that remembers seeing my posts throughout the last week, here’s an update. I had IUI treatment, 3rd try, on 26th August. I started bleeding on 8th September but it was a weird period, so last Saturday 19th September I took a pregnancy test, and it showed I was pregnant. Every test I have taken since has been positive and my first clear blue last week said 1-2 weeks.

I’ve now taken another clear blue a week later and it is still 1-2 weeks. Does this mean my HCG levels aren’t going up? Should I be worried? I’m so so scared!!

Clearblue digital with weeks has always accurately predicted there was something wrong in all my miscarriages but that being said there is some evidence that when hcg gets too high it can throw the test off and show a lower number than it should - I’d ask your clinic for a hcg test to be sure though x

The only way to know is to do Beta test to see it the levels are growing nicely. I hope all goes well for you! ✨

I agree with the others, it could be a natural pregnancy after your period on 8th in which case the weeks reading is about right, but like the others I have had this scenario and sadly it ended in MMC. It can go either way so suggest a beta is probably your best bet or a scan - I would contact your EPU - good luck x

I personally don't think people should rely too much on the digital tests to see how their pregnancy progresses. I have read a lot of stories were people panicked about the weeks not moving on their test and later finding out their pregnancy is progressing fine. There was an interesting discussion on Twitter 'exposing' digital pregnancy test a while ago. Someone took a test apart to show that the mechanisms inside was basically a couple of lights reading the darkness of a teststrip- the same one you would find on a normal pregnancy test. I think they are not wrong as they can help women have clear yes or no answers but I do think with week predictors they are misleading. We think they are really accurate but they are just trying to read how dark the teststrip is and of course lots of factors- especially diluted urine- would affect this.

I'm really sorry for the long answer but I just wanted to say you should try to not panic on the basis of the digital test. Try to see the doctor and ask for a blood test- only this will help you to get a clear picture of what is going on. Take care x

Hope everything is ok. Could you ring your GP to arrange a blood test? X

I don’t think it will be worth it. I’ve been trying to get in touch with my GP for over a week but they have reduced services due to COVID and just not picking up the phone. I feel better to be honest as I read online that people with PCOS show less symptoms due to their imbalance in hormones and I managed to speak to my team yesterday and they reassured me.
