I had my egg collection on Monday. It went well they managed to collect 20 eggs!!!
14 were injected (we are having icsi)
12 fertilised.
Today is day two. I've been given the choice of either have two transferred tomorrow all being well or holding out until Saturday and hopefully transfering a blastocyst if the embabies make it that far.
I really don't know what to do. Have any one else had to make this decision. I'm 37 now , normally they would transfer on day 3 but they are giving me the choice.

In my clinic usually they decide on day3. If you have few on day3 or one that is clearly the best one, that one could go in on that day. If you have quite a few good ones, they normally like to wait until day 5 and put the best looking one in and freeze the rest on day 5. Did you have this done before and got a good number on day5?
Hi Prickles. You will obviously have to trust your embryologist. He/she can see how well they are developing, so by tomorrow, I would have thought a decision would be made. Hopefully you will get some blastocysts out of all of those, so fingers crossed. Your embryologist might want to transfer one at 3 day stage and see whether the others grow on to Day 5 - fit for storing frozen. Thinking of you. Diane
My clinic usually only transfers on day 5 and I do think in many ways this makes sense, if you have enough embryos (which with 12, it really sounds like you do). It's easier to pick the best quality ones xx
