Well the title says it all really. Had quite a complicated miscarriage (blighted ovum) as had to take misoprostal a couple of times, thought it had worked on 2nd go but then starting experiencing really heavy bleeding, spent couple of nights in hospital and had a ERPC (like d&c there)
It’s 3 weeks exactly today since surgery to I’ve done a pregnancy test as suggested and it’s lighter but still a positive...argh!
Definitely not a new pregnancy as haven’t been trying as still bleeding very lightly since procedure.
Very worried now. Is this normal? Thanks in advance Xx

Thanks Positivevibe, sorry you've been through this as well. I hope your current cycle is going well xx
So sorry to hear this, you just want it over don't you? I would be tempted to call EPU and ask them to scan you and do an HCG. I had a consistent continual BFP after mine and ended up having retained products, although my tests were still very dark even after 3 weeks. I had an internal scan and they couldn't see anything but then they tried a different external scan and they found what they thought looked like extra tissue so then did a blood test and it came back that my HCG was still 15,000 and something so I went back in and had more surgery. Hopefully this won't happen to you, and like Positivevibe says it can take longer, but after my experience I think its worth a double check xx
Thanks so much Daisy for this, i'm going to call EPU this morning. I'm so sorry you went through surgery twice, such a tough process to go through. Everything crossed for this cycle for you xx
Hey honey, sorry you're still having a hard time. Everyone is different & hCG can drop at a different rate for some. I would say it's looking good that it's a faint line but maybe have a chat with EPU. They may want to check your hCG or rescan....may even ask you to retest in a week first. Hugs.xxx
Thanks so much Cinders! Hopefully because it's faint it means it's on its way out. How are you getting on? Guessing your scan is soon? Sending lots of positive vibes your way xxx
Yes, I would say its looking that way. Im not doing too badly after a week of meltdowns thanks! Ha ha ha I have a scan this Thursday so will find out what is going on or not as the case may be but at least its soon.xxx
Oh Cinders, eek, I know how nervous you must feel but hopefully excited to see your lil bean too. Will be thinking of you! Come and let us all know how you get on xxx
Thanks honey, especially when you are going through such a difficult time. Will let you guys know either way what happens, don't know what I'd do without you all!!xxx
Oh pet. I’m for an ERPC tomorrow and my paper work says test three weeks after to get a negative. I would defo contact your gP or epu that looked after you to see what they suggest. They will need to check with scan or bloods or both to see where you are. Hopefully they can reassure you and help you if they need to . Massive hugs 💐💐💐😘💖
Oh RhinoCat, i'll be thinking of you today. It's such a tough process, make sure to have lots of time to rest and recouperate. Chocolate, boxsets, duvet! Msg me if you have any questions or want to chat at all. Big love. And thanks so much for your reply...i'm going to get in touch with EPU today xx
Mine was negative at 2w they did say test at 3w. It’s pretty normal to still have a little hcg as it can fall slowly but no harm in consulting your epu for advise.
I got myself in a right state when my test was still positive 3 weeks after surgical managment of a missed miscarriage. I rang my clinic and the nurse said its quite normal and it can take a bit longer for the hcg to come down. So try not to worry too much. I then got my period another 3 weeks later. I would say ring up and ask and they can advise you best. Sending lots of love to you and any other ladies going through this at the moment xx
Thanks so much for your reply F_J_762301, yes that was me yesterday, in bits! Your message has made me feel so much better, thank you! Sorry you've been through all this too. Everything crossed for your next go lovely xx
Hi lovely. I didnt have a d&c for my mmc but from the date they said embryo stopped growing it took 5 weeks until i got a negative pregnancy test. In that time i did have a period / natural miscarriage. I also saw on youtube that women who try naturally they were talking about how they couldnt use opks as it would pick up the hcg. As others said you can ring them and ask for blood test if u dont see the lines getting fainter x so sorry you going through this x
Thanks so much for your reply Mimisami. That's really helpful. I'll call EPU today. I'm so glad yours is negative now. Sending loads of positive vibes your way for a successful transfer soon xxx
