Pregnancy testing date

My clinic just called me to check how I’m doing in the wait... and clarified that I can’t test before next week because they calculate the date as 35 days from when I started progynova. Has anyone else had this?? I’ve always tested 2 weeks post transfer but thought at 10 days after blastocyst transfer. I’m so confused. Anyone explain?

Hi! I’ve found that all clinics give different testing dates - some are around 9 or 10 post transfer - my clinic was 14 days. I’ve also found that most ladies (me included!) test early regardless of what day they have been told lol. How many days post transfer are you? Xx

Thanks PenguinBlue... I’m 9 days post transfer so far and was hoping to test at the weekend so I don’t have to worry about managing work and emotions...

I don’t understand how the ‘number of days since starting progynova’ is related to when we should test though - it’s the first time my clinic has said this. I’ve just ordered some early tests so I imagine I will test early this weekend and then do it again next week 😫🙏🏽🤞🏽

Yes, that’s a good idea - you’ll be 11dp by tomorrow (I think!) so that will give you a good indication. Fingers crossed for you - keep me posted on how you get on! Xx

😔 BFN... but no period yet. So strange. Supposed to test weds so I’ll do it again but got 2 meg tests already so I guess I know....

Oh Caim, I am so sorry. Definitely test again on Wednesday to be sure as I’ve heard things can turn around 🤞🏽If it is a negative on Wednesday then it’s likely all the drugs you’re taking that are holding off your period. Mine was the same and I only got my period 3 days after stopping all meds.

Yeh, I thought that about the drugs. Thanks for confirming... I get awful endo pain so it feels like a worse slap in the face to get the big bleed after all the Ivf build up. Ah well. When you just want that baba you have to keep going eh?...

Next FET will be my last. I’ll be 45 at the end of this year and I know I’ll have had enough by then. But good to feel some closure when you’ve given it everything you have.

Oh I can imagine, it’s such a slap in the face when the cramps and pains start after a failed cycle - it’s not like we needed the reminding!! But we are so strong because we keep fighting each and every time!

That’s a great step that you have closure and know when you want to stop. I know I’m not there yet but feel so torn when I do think about when I would want to stop. Do you know when you will plan for your last FET?

Never taken it so i dont know but is it maybe a drug that could cause you to have a false positive if you test too early? So when we get a trigger shot we are told it takes 10-14 days to leave system and can cause a positive on a test even if you are not. Suppose you could test now and if you at negative at least you would know any future positive wasnt linked to meds. Good luck x
