HCG Intra-uterine flushing - Update
Hello everybody,
So I had the HCG flushing 2 days ago and had my transfer today. It is pretty much like an embryo transfer but the catheter contains a few ml of the HCG hormone (500) in a medium which is then squirted into the uterus.
This is still experimental but my RE says it is to give the endometrium 'a warning' that an embryo is coming...to better prepare it for implantation. It is thought that the HCG sets some chemical processes in motion which makes the endometrium more receptive to the embryo and some trials (although they were quite small) suggests an increase in implantation and decrease in miscarriage. Apparently it is thought that with natural conception, embryos start to produce HCG from day 2 so adding some HCG before the transfer mimics that
Anyway, it doesn't hurt and it is quite inexpensive so I was quite happy to go along with it...
I've done a bit of reading about it as well and there seems to be some evidence that this might help.
Can't believe my pregancy test is set for 2 days before my quarantine is over after returning from Alicante !!
I wish all those who are in the 2ww with me much luck and baby dust
