Back trying for second IVF miracle 🤞🏻

I hope everyone is well reading this. I haven’t been on here properly for a while since we successfully got pregnant from ivf/icsi back in July 2017. Our little boy was born March 2018 and is now a very happy, healthy 2.5 yr old toddler!

We felt ready to try again about 6 months after I had him in the knowledge that I probably wouldn’t fall naturally but we still had hope and had been trying anyway. Fast forward 2 years and no luck still we decided to go ahead and start initial investigations again for potential treatment.

Last time round we were told it was unexplained this time following an AMH test I was told my level was 38.7 which although sounded excellent for my age (34) was actually an indication I had PCOS. So I was shocked and started lots of research on PCOS and went through a few weeks of feeling a bit lost that I hadn’t known sooner. However I haven’t formally been diagnosed and after reading up I don’t actually fit the diagnosis criteria as I don’t have at least 2 of the main symptoms.

Anyway I was started on Metformin twice daily as I was told this would help regulate my insulin sensitivity and help with treatment and reduce risk of miscarriage. My medication was ordered and I was ready to start ivf again on my next cycle.

On day 23 of my cycle I had some spotting and thought this could be my period gearing up to start in a few days then some more spotting For next 2/3 days, more than I would usually get but nothing like my ‘full flow’ that I was told to wait for before starting the stims. Fast forward a few weeks I am on cycle day 40 now (mine are usually ~30 days) and no sign still. I have taken two pg tests now as I thought for a second could our luck finally be in....but no 🤨 so confused. Still waiting and fed up now and thinking could the ‘spotting’ of been a very light period very early for me because of the metformin?

Any ideas gratefully received!!!

Weirdly happy to be back here in this community. This forum was such a support to me during those early stages of treatment last time.

Do you mean which clinic I used? I can message you. We are using a different one to our first IVF treatment now

Thank you, we were very surprised it happened so quickly after such a stressful struggle to have our daughter Francesca! Im due the same time I was 3 years ago when I had a chemical pregnancy.Will feel much more relaxed once we’ve had the dating scan which I’m told won’t be until I’m 14 weeks ( I’m 11 weeks tomorrow) had the usual spotting I’ve had with my son & daughter which seems to be something I do 🙄Looking forward to hearing your journey updates, hope all goes smoothly for you ☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻xxx
