How many days should a ovulation test be positive?

So I'm just thinking back to something weird from last month. I had a failed fresh transfer at the end of July (confirmed by pregnancy test) and tried naturally in August. I was testing for my ovulation day and this turned out to read on the strip for 7 days (some days stronger than others). I'm just wondering if the IVF meds might have affected this? I've also heard ovulation strips can be used as pregnancy tests, but I can't have been pregnant (negative test and period ended previous cycle)

I don't think this has read so long previously. I'm just about to start ovulation testing again this month and it got me thinking - for how long should it read positive?

Hi Orangeflowers. After my failed fresh transfer in late Jan I tracked using one of the clear blue digital opks. That first cycle after my period I recorded 6 or 7 days of flashing smileys before getting an LH surge, whereas before and usually since I get about 3 or 4 days of 'high fertility'. I definitely felt it was something to do with the IVF drugs 🤷‍♀️ but don't know for certain. Good luck! X
