When I've used ovulation strips previously I've had a faint line for a unexpectedly long time both before and after getting stronger positives. It seemed like the majority of the cycle đ
I've just had my withdrawal bleed from a failed cycle and already the day after bleeding stopping, I have a faint positive on the ovulation test.
I'm wondering now if I've been timing intercourse all wrong.
How long do other ladies generally get a line of some sort?
Experiences appreciated.
Baby đ dust to all xx

Oh, thank you! I didn't realise that. I just presumed it would be negative so far from expected ovulation day and would gradually get darker. Also read something about PCOS being associated with elevated LH concentration. I'll wait a bit longer to see if I get a positive. I've being doing this all wrong! x
Itâs really an issue with pcos and elevated LH. If youâre using ovulation tests I donât think you can rely on them solely with pcos. I think you should be tracking your bbt as well. When I was asked to do testing for my FET I was also asked to do it twice a day. I think this helps in pinpointing the window of ovulation.
Oh, ok thank you. I've never tried the temperature thing as I didn't think subtle changes would be picked up, but I'll give it a go, maybe a different thermometer.
The PCOS thing is weird. I'm not officially diagnosed and don't match many symptoms. However 'possible pco type syndrome was written on my notes as I produce lots of follicles and respond well but then get rubbish eggs. Thought maybe this elevated LH thing might be linked to that?...
Yeah apparently you need one that you can put up there thatâs more accurate than a normal thermometer. Just fyi. I totally understand because years ago I was diagnosed with pcos due to high levels of oestrogen and low progesterone, facial hair (which I still suffer) acne (which I still suffer) and an enlarged ovary with the appearance of too many follicles. However when I went for ivf they said i wasnât because my hormone levels dictated that I wasnât. Really strange because I suffer more than ever with facial hair and assumed it was all because of pcos. However when they came to harvest my eggs they grew well and we got ten. As well as that they told me I ovulate monthly. So I really donât know if pcos is or isnât a factor. Must be very hard to work out what to do for the best
Theyâre more expensive but you may want to try the clearblue OPKs. Theyâre digital and give you a smiley face when you have your LH surge, so it takes the guesswork out of it! xx
