BFN at 8dp5dt

Morning all,

I know it’s a bit early but just not got a good feel for this one. Had some cramping at day 2/3 pt that nearly doubled me over and nothing else. My boobs aren’t really even still sore from the progesterone (although my head very much is!!) OTD is sat but would be surprised if it changes now (although I know you’re not out until you are as it were!)

Think there was quite a few transfers around mine so wishing everyone a sane head getting through it and 🤞for testing day.

I’m in a similar position. BFN at 11dp3dt. Tested early as I have had a gut feeling it hasn’t worked. Two embies transferred. Had really been rooting for them 😢. Not sure if the chances of getting a positive in 3 days time?! Really sucks. I’m gutted.

Oh sorry to hear that!! It’s so gutting isn’t it. Some people do test early and the results do change so you might be one of those people?! 🤞🤞 I’m kind of with you though in that sometimes your gut feeling is right. Let’s hope we’re both wrong! Xx

My OTD is tomorrow and I’ve held of testing. Possibly AF, cramping and some light bleeding/pink stuff. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and everyone else in this boat with us xx 🧡

My test date is on Sunday. Have also had some cramping and have had some blood for a few days. Can't help but overthink a bit. Wishing you all for a good outcome xx

My OTD is Friday and have also tested early and had a negative. First time and gutting is definitely a good word for it!! Although my OTD is 9dpt (FET) which seems really early compared to everyone?

I hope the early tests were just too early for us! 🤞🏼 Also admiring the will power of those who haven’t tested early!!!

Hi yes that does seem early. This transfer was fresh but regardless my OTD are 12dpt. Sorry you for a BFN. Fingers crossed we can turn at least some of them round for some people! Xx

Saturday is still far away in testing terms. Keeping everything crossed for you and sending positive vibes. It's sooo hard keeping a level head through all this. My OTD is next Tuesday and I'm going crazy already! Really hoping for the best for you. xxxx

I second what ttcemmie says. I've read several stories on here where women tested a day or two before OTD, got a BFN, but then on the day of the test got their positive. Also, implantation can take up to 10 days to implant. As you probably know, your body won't be producing enough HCG (or whatever its called) for a pregnancy test to detect until after implantation. You're only 2/3's through the 2WW. Still time for your embies to settle in.

What are you doing during the wait? Other than wishing the days away until OTD?

I just spent an utterly mindless 5 hours walking around the mall. I went into every shop, just to help distract my mind and help time pass. I have my FET on Thursday so not quite same as you, but the waiting is still brutal.

Ah thank you. Think implantation normally happens between 1-5 days after transfer but it is poss that my hCG isn’t high enough yet. I just have a feeling that I’m out this round! I could though be a fashionably late implanter as @Twiglet2 says 😉.

Did you buy anything at the mall?! 5 hours is a seriously good commitment to shopping/ distracting yourself 👍. I’m doing some house bits this week as we’ve moved quite recently so have stuff to distract me but you’re never really too far away from the worry of the 2ww to be honest.

That's what I thought about the implantation window but apparently..."Implantation usually occurs 6 to 12 days after conception."... That was just from a quick google on how long implantation can take after ovulation. Obviously its a little different with fresh or fet, and I read somewhere that the window can be greater then.

I hate shopping. I bought a chocolate doughnut, a chai tea latte and a some masking tape. Oh and a book called 'confessions of a forty-something f##k up". I'd like to say the hormones made me buy it, but admittedly I'd buy a trashy book any other day of a normal week.

House stuff sounds like a good distraction given how it's never ending work and even 5 years later you still find yourself unpacking boxes.

Oh, sorry to hear! Very much in the same boat. OTD this Friday at 13DP5Dfet. Tested yesterday at 9DP5DT and very very white (negative). Very confused as mine was a natural FET with only an ovulation trigger (triggered on Saturday so ovulated on Monday two weeks ago) - one would’ve thought I’d have had my period by now if I wasn’t pregnant. A teeny tiny bit queasy when I wake up at 4-5 am (not sure if that’s what’s waking me up as normally I don’t?!) and today typical AF lower back pain, but otherwise nothing... Have been tempted to test again this morning but have been strong and not. Might do tomorrow. Every time I go to the loo I’m anxiously seeing what I’ll wipe!

Argh! Going mental!

Oh hun. God I feel for you so much. I’m hoping that all your symptoms are definitely not AF and will keep everything crossed for you. I like the “tiny bit queasy” thing (sounds weird to say) but am keeping all my fingers crossed that those symptoms are a good sign 😉.

I’m swerving the test until at least Friday as it gets me so upset otherwise!! Wishing you all the very best and hoping for a BFP for you.

I’ve had 5 medicated transfers (1 fresh, 4 FET) and have never had sore boobs on pessaries. And always had a sore head too! So I wouldn’t take that as a sign either way. I’ve got a girl from my fresh transfer and I only remember three symptoms in the first weeks: exhaustion, a weird episode of ‘fanny daggers’ only lasting minutes but doubling me over, and that queasiness in the early morning...

Hope your BFN becomes a BFP by the time your OTD comes along! 🤞🏻 🍀

I’ve had the queasiness on previous failed FETs too but blamed the pessaries. One was a chemical and that one I had it a little worse if I remember correctly. Why does one not keep a symptom diary?

Oh god I haven’t kept a diary either. Primarily because symptoms mean one thing for one cycle and the opposite for the next (exactly as you say). If I had it written down I’d be even more obsessive 😉🤯. Xx

How are you doing lovely? Symptoms persisting here (tingling breasts, minute nausea in the early AM), tested again this morning at 11dpt and still BFN. Weird. Also still no period... totally puzzled! How can one have pregnancy symptoms with HCG concentrations so low that the test doesn’t pick it up? I’m using early response ones too!

Oh no! Poor you, I’m sorry to hear! How certain are you? Still a bit early for a definite answer? When does your clinic want you to test? Will you get a beta?

I tested again this morning (11dp5dt) and still very negative, but also still no period. Guess a chemical or something else dodgy going on...

Oh god why is this journey so hard?! You just want to know one way of the other. Really hoping it works out for you. 🤞 My OTD is Saturday so I won’t test again until then now. I think it’s pretty unlikely it will turn around now and have got my head around a BFN. It’s the unknown and the waiting that kills me. I can get a BETA at the clinic if I want one but not sure if I will or not. I just want to know why the damn things aren’t implanting 🤯🙄😢x
