Had a freak out - day 3 transfer now

After having 7 embryos at this stage last transfer and then all my embryos being discarded except for 1, the worry has set in and I have asked for a day 3 transfer rather than a day 5. They have said no problem at all! (Well, I had to email them, and then they called me back because their phones are STILL off). Soooo having embryo transfer tomorrow now. Crazy.

They simply can not use corona as an excuse? I don’t understand the logic in that . Your paying for a service and you need maximum support- im baffled by it

I think you said that you never tried day 3 transfer, is always worth to try you never know what works for you! Keeping everything crossed 🤞

True! I have had 4 "day-5" transfers (including a frozen), but never a "day-3". Let's give it a go!

I had a call today to say I have 2 out of 6 embryos left at 5 cell they should be 8/9 cell today which is day 3. I originally opted to wait to see if we get to blastocyst but I’m now thinking I should just have a day 3 transfer and give it a shot. Good luck with yours can I ask how many cells yours were? X

Hi Char. I know it's completely individual but I think, for me, I am getting more worried and more emotionally attached to the embryos the more cycles I do. I feel it's also a lot of work to go through to chuck potential babies away. Anyway that's the stage I've got to. Doesn't mean it's right for everyone. My 2 best ones that they put back were 8 cell and 10 cell. They said to me that 8 cell was their preferred. What are your clinic suggesting? Xxxxx

Hello ttcemmie thank you for the reply. By day 5 I had two morulas (stage before blastocyst) sorry if you already knew what that meant, I didn’t until Saturday. One was slightly better quality than the other so decision was made that it was good enough to be transferred. I am now 2dp5dt. How are you? Xxxx

Hi Char. Congrats on your transfer. I am 5dp3dt so on a similar timeline to you! Unfortunately I got nothing to freeze at day 5 (1 poor quality blast, 3 morulas, and a 7 cell embryo). But happy that I had a transfer at least! x

I was thinking same thing atleast we got to transfer an embryo let’s face it the clinics wouldn’t transfer an embryo they didn’t think would be worth transferring so let’s cross our fingers and hope for the best. We have been through a lot to get here we deserve a chance. Good Luck let me know your result all the best to you xx
