I'm a bit confused in the lead up to my frozen embryo transfer this friday in terms of vaginal ultrasound scans. Last week I had 2 scans at my fertility clinic, Tuesday and Thursday. They found a smallish follicle that they were not sure if I would ovulate from, and it grew only slightly between the two scans. They said at the time they would like to look at it again Monday/Tuesday. I then got a positive ovulation pee stick result on Saturday night. They have now booked an embryo transfer for Friday. I turned up for my scan this morning but it turns out there was a mix up and they apparently don't need to see me this week , as the pee stick is enough for them to go on that I ovulated. I feel a bit uncertain about this as I do not completely trust the pee stick ovulation tests ( I used clear blue digital and got a static smiley face). I'm worried I didn't really ovulate and I would like to have more scans to see if the follicle is still there, or whether its ovulated and gone down- but they have said they don't want to do unneccessary scans. Does anyone who is familiar with the procedure know if it is normal to just take the pee sticks as conclusive proof that ovulation has occured? How many scans did you guys have in the lead up to your frozen embryo transfers? I have £££ riding on this, plus all my hopes and dreams, so I'm nervous to go ahead if things aren't 100% right.

So you are doing a natural FET? Are you on any progesterone support during this cycle? It is possible to get a LH surge without ovulating, unfortunately, but they probably wouldn't offer you a natural cycle unless you ovulate normally most months right? In which case you are probably good. You still have time to insist on a scan and / bloodwork to confirm though. It's your embryo and entirely up to you, best of luck hun xx
Yes it is a natural cycle. They've assumed I ovulate most months as I have a regular period and there is male factor infertility so they havent been super thorough in investigating me. Do you reckon I should insist on a scan then ?
Totally up to you lovely, I don't ovulate on my own often so I do medicated cycles. Maybe call and discuss with them? They can scan you and possibly do bloods day before transfer to confirm ovulation through progesterone levels possibly I imagine? Best of luck xx
Chel I forgot to reply at the time, sorry, but what you said helped me! It gave me the confidence to call the clinic and insist on another scan, where they visually confirmed that ovulation had occured- it really made me feel less anxious about this cycle so thank you very much for your advice!
