Hi my dear Ladies. I'm totally down now after I had just my egg collection. They found 2 eggs only and both immature. I feel totally doomed and hopeless, that I can't even get mature eggs and make it to egg collection. I'm 36 and amh 0.4.
Did that happen to you? Any good outcome in a different cycle?
I had once a natural pregnancy but ended in miscarriage 1 year ago.
Really need some good stories now...

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. Did the Drs give you any indication of how many they might collect? What size were they at your last scan, they should only have collected once they were big enough and therefore likely to be mature? Was this short protocol?
There were 2 follicles last time the lowest I ever had. And one was 15mm 2 days ago and 17mm. It was a short protokoll. Maybe my eggs are just faulty and not good 🤷♀️do you think the timing of the trigger was just too early?
It may be down to dosage or protocol, make sure you're firm with your Dr about what to try next time. My long protocol 1st cycle of IVF had to be cancelled due to poor response so I now know my next try will be short protocol and highest dose meds. This ivf process is such trial and error...with us being the emotional guinea pigs..we have to keep going and believe it will work!
My first cycle I had a poor fertilisation rate due to maturity issues, and those that got fertilised stalled quickly after.y consultant promised they had learned a lot about my body and it’s response to the drugs, and that next cycle would be different. Next cycle, different drugs, double trigger and I got both more eggs and much higher quality, resulting in a whopping 8 high quality blasts at 38.
Ask your consultant what they’ll do different next time. Hope your turn comes soon!
Thanks that gives me hope that each protokol can give a different outcome. Even if I know that I might never get a high egg count. But those collected I hope they will be good and hopefully be my baby. 🤗
I had all immature eggs on a previous cycle. It’s so devastating so I really feel for you ♥️
Luckily my clinic performed IMSI (at a substantial extra cost) which matures the eggs in the lab, and they matured nicely. However the cycle still failed. My consultant put me on a different stims drug next round and I’m now 8 weeks pregnant (and praying I will stay pregnant). I also followed the advice of the book’ its starts with the egg’ and ate very healthily in between the rounds and ended up getting the best quality embryo ever. Hope this helps x
Hi Nicoma. Do you know the reason why they were immature? What did the doctor say? Would have one day later trigger changed everything? Or using double trigger?
So happy for you. Always great to hear good outcomes. It gives me hope. ❤️
Hi there! I was using a new stimulation drug for the first time on the failed round and my doctor said the immature eggs meant I needed more LH and FSH in my next round. He switched my stimulation to a different drug and upped my dosage. It’s like the previous poster has said, as heartbreaking as it is to have a failed round, the silver lining is that it should always give your doctor more information about your body for the next try. Hopefully your consultant will try something different based on the evidence, so it’s important you ask him what that will be and ask why. Ask every question you can and don’t feel bad about it either. Doctors don’t always appreciate that knowledge is everything to us on this journey. Good luck honey! ♥️
Totally agree with the earlier replies. Every cycle is different depending on protocol. So, discuss with your doctor and try a new plan. Also, in my experience, older women should not have egged “over cooked”. Trigger at 17-20mm rather than over 20mm gives better fertilisation chance. google this and also discuss with your doctor. I don’t think your egg size was out of range. I had my trigger when egged were under 20mm and the Doctor didn’t seem to be too concerned. She was more focused on my hormone levels. Wish you good luck!
