Hello you lovely ladies. I want to say thank you for keeping me as same as possible over the last two weeks. I'm new here and I can honestly say it's been such a help having somewhere to share my journey.
As the title says my second cycle (FET) has ended in a chemical pregnancy. I've had three faint positives over the last two days of varying strength (10/11dp5dt) and yesterday afternoon I got the strongest positive so got a glimmer of hope, but I've tested today (morning and afternoon) and the lines are the same/lighter. I know I sound like a crazy POAS addict but I just needed to know ๐ I'm also cramping badly intermittently now so I think my period is trying to come but progynova and cyclogest is stopping it.
This is my second cycle, first being a fresh cycle with 5AA embryos and both of them have ended in a chemical pregnancy. My lining is good but they just don't want to stick. Is there anything I can be asking at my follow up ready for my next (and final) attempt? I have a 4AA and a 4AB in the freezer and want to give it the best chance.
Thanks for reading. Xxx

Oh I'm so sorry ๐๐๐ it's just so disheartening to come so close. I think if I'd tested earlier I'd have seen darker lines as I'm almost certain I felt implantation at 3/4dp5dt. I'm glad I didn't as that would have been awful!
My OTD is Tuesday... I took pics but canโt see on the pic.. but I can see it on the test. Not sure.. bought some cheapies today but not holding out... got mild cramps now and the few other days xxxxx
Oh sweetheart, Iโm so sorry to hear this. Itโs so tough. Sending lots of love your way. In terms of things to ask - have you had a ERA test? Also checking progesterone level on day of transfer too? I havenโt done a ERA but did check progesterone on my 2nd cycle (first was BFN after 4AA transfer) and it was showing as low so Iโve been topping it up with Lubion injections. Got BFP after topping up progesterone xxx
Thank you so much for all your help and messages and advice ๐ Glad to hear the extra progesterone helped. So crazy a little thing makes the world of difference.
I will certainly ask them questions in my follow up. Is a ERA the same as a scratch test?
Iโm so sorry to read this. Itโs so hard to get so close. Take some time to rest and process everything before you decide whatโs next. Thinking of you xx
I know you probably just want to accept thatโs itโs a chemical but you said the test was the same/lighter? Was it really significantly lighter than the day before? Just because I am also a serial tester and on my last fet I had a day where I thought my tests were slightly lighter but everything was fine, I think I was just overanalysing them!xx
I feel your pain my clinic has recently started offering hcg infusion after 3 unsuccessful implantations you could ask if this is an option? Iโve tried for my most recent (current in 2ww) so fingers crossed it helps! I read that it works better with fresh compared to frozen but may still help?
This was the in the info I received โSeveral studies have shown that a small amount of the hormone human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG) infused into the uterus shortly before embryo transfer may increase the chance of an embryo implanting.
The chance of an embryo implanting depends on the quality of the embryo and the receptivity of the uterus. Little is known about how to influence the receptivity of the uterus, but there have been several studies looking at the infusion of a small amount of the hormone hCG before embryo transfer.
Research: A recent meta-analysis looked at the results from 15 randomised control studies that included over 2500 patients. The conclusion was that on average infusion of hCG increased the chance of a live birth after embryo transfer. It also appeared to lower the chance of miscarriage.โ
Thanks hun! I forgot to mention โColorado protocolโ that Iโm trying as well basically taking aspirin to thin blood and steroids to lower your immune system in case it was fighting the implantation along with extra progesterone. I think some clinics are on the fence about if it adds anything but worth asking your doctor about it.
Hi Sas I have had CP with the last 5 transfers, ranging over the last 2 years... its really hard isnโt it!! Iโm so sorry for this happening to you I can completely understand how you feel. Just know that you are doing everything you can, and this is your bodyโs way of telling you that these babies were not right, not meant to be. Trust your body when it rejects these ones itโs for a reason. I actually fell pregnant with my first ever FET and have a 2 year old now. All the other embryos have been unsuccessful so keep going as one of the ones in the freezer could be your baby! Good luck and stay healthy and positive xx .
Iโm so sorry. I would totally go and see a miscarriage specialist before you go any further. I had 1 chemical pregnancy and 2 miscarriages before seeing one and he changed my life. In my experience the ivf clinics werenโt as up to speed on all the testing for things that cause embryos not to โstickโ and miscarriages. Having seen my specialist, Iโm now 15 weeks pregnant naturally at 41.
