Hi

I have focal adenomyosis and some diffused, I also have stage 4 Endo.

I’ve just had a 6 month course of zolodex and started Ivf this month. Had 4 eggs collected, 3 fertilised now day 3 embryos one is top quality then the other two not very good. Praying my top quality one makes it to day 5 blastocyst for transfer Monday. Then it’s waiting to see if the adenomyosis is going to stop it implanting.

Having had Zoladex for 6 months it’s the calmest it’s been so I’m praying it all works out.

Hope this helps

HiSorry I had taken some time away from here and just seen your message.

Update below. I hope you are well and are getting on ok.

I have both endo and adenomyosis both diagnosed a few years ago after a laparoscopy. My period pain and ovulation pain was so excruciating and I bled sooo heavy and constantly in between periods after sex , at ovulation.

I also have really bad bowel issues especially around the time of Ovulation or a period. I had endo diagnosed although told only mild and they didn’t think endo was responsible for all my pain. I saw a specialist who advised me that the adenomyosis was for me both focal a single mass at the fudus of my uterus and diffuse lots of different small patches scattered around. The focal mass was growing into my womb tissue and effectively part of my womb. My bowel was attached to my womb from the endometriosis and I no longer have a pouch of Douglas hence my bowel issues. I was told the adenomyosis was responsible for all my severe pain and constant bleeding.

I was also advised my chances of conceiving were less than 1% and I’d need ivf support also 6 months of down regulation drugs. As surgery would mean taking the mass at the fundus out by cutting/ taking a clear margin of good womb tissue around it, effectively removing the adenomyosis tissue but by doing this it would reduce the size of my womb and was high risk surgery.

My main concern was trying to conceive at this point id been trying for 10 years, so I went on zolodex for 6 months horrible drug puts you in the menapause which for me was not nice, however my symptoms did almost disappear. I just had new ones of feeling like a grumpy old woman and hot flushes etc but I stuck with it as my bowel symptoms went and I had no periods so no pain.

Following this I had 2 rounds of ivf including further down regulation drugs and what they called the long protocol. Out of both rounds I ended up with 3 eggs & only one ever fertilised but thankfully both went on to be a top quality day 5 embryo. The first one I had a transfer with but didn’t work and the second I froze not trusting my horrible womb environment. This was in March this year. After a withdrawal bleed and a couple of months later I didn’t come on a period again convinced the drugs had messed my cycles up I put off testing but after missing two periods and then planning on going for the 3rd round of ivf to get another embryo I ended up testing positive!! At first it was most concerning about if it was ectopic as nothing was meant to be able to implant in my womb as is was soo hostile.

Thankfully it wasn’t and somehow my little miracle had found some normal womb tissue to implant into and this was after 12 years of trying & having never got a positive test before. I am now 13 weeks and saw my adenomyosis/ endo consultant this week who is completely amazed and said I have defied all the odds. Not a worry free pregnancy by any means but taking one day & one scan at a time.

Just wanted to share my story and I never believed in miracles until this. ❤️💕

Wow congratulations this is great news am so happy for you. Please try to take things very easy and don’t stress yourself too much. I also have adenomyosis which cause me to loss 3 pregnancy conceived naturally and I have had 7 times Embrayo transfer with one icis Ivf Duagther born 2018 when I was 39.5 years old it was a very high risk pregnancy with a lot of fear and weekly visits to the hospital but thankfully we made it I have been trying since she was three months old naturally for another baby but nothing has happened yet I have had one frozen transfer last November but did not work I am having another frozen transfer on Tuesday if all goes and the Embrayo makes the threw as I have had 2 Embrayo in the past that did not survive the threw so keeping my fingers crossed because this is my last Embrayo and I am 42 years old with very low AHM of 0.45 so my chances of having another baby is very very low hope and believing in miracles. I want through all this treatment that you had for years now and it is horrible. Keeping all my fingers crossed for you and your miracle baby and wishing you all the very best in life
