Anyone else found buselerin has been very slow to take effect?

Usually it would take me about 16-18 days of the daily injections for the painters to come in.

So I'm a late starter it seems generally but now it's day 25, I had a HCG ovitrelle shot at the clinic on Weds morning to chivvy things alongt. Nurse said should have a downreg period within 72 hours of that but still waiting 😖

Sorry to hear this it must be so frustrating, as if there isn’t enough waiting involved in this process already! I’m also slow to respond to buserelin too and don’t usually start my period until day 19. Hopefully the meds they’ve given you will help bring things along, good luck!

Thanks L2213, exactly how I feel.

Hope you are doing ok are you in treatment at the moment?

Its reassuring to hear I am not alone in being slow to respond to buselerin

For those of us who go through the process a few times we think we know what to expect from how our bodies respond, so it's frustrating when it doesn't happen when it should. I'll just keep waiting 🙄

I know it’s really frustrating isn’t it, I’m terrible and try and plan out all the dates then get upset when it doesn’t work out - after waiting for so long I guess it’s just trying to take a bit of control where I can!

Im doing ok in my treatment thanks, it’s our 3rd try and OTD is Tuesday so hoping for good news. I hope you are doing ok and that the meds to the trick so you can get moving to the next stage soon 😊xxx

Sorry to hear you’re having problems with the Buserelin :( I did too and couldn’t find much info in it. It really is so frustrating isn’t it! It really just didn’t agree with my body. I did have a bleed only a few days later than expected but it was really light and my lining just got thicker and thicker. They spoke about me taking my trigger shot like you did to try and sort it out but in the end they decided to abandon down regulation all together and swap me to a short protocol. I had to wait 5 weeks to start that as everything was so messed up from trying to down regulate for so long (4 weeks) but I’m now a week in and it seems to be much better! Fingers crossed for a bleed for you soon!

Thanks Goldie24 for sharing your experience.

Sorry to read you had so many false starts at the start of your journey, I'm glad the short protocol is looking more promising and hoping it works for you! 🤞

I’m interested to know about this as I’m taking Buserelin and literally feel normal and I’m wondering if it’s doing anything. Can I ask how did it not agree with your body? Did you get in touch with your clinic to discuss with them?

It’s a bit of a long story so I’ve PM’d you instead :)

I rang the clinic today and the nurse wants me to keep going with the buselerin and scan booked for a week's time. I was so convinced they would want to cancel and start again so was surprised at this!

Hopeful things will start to work - Still no bleed after 27 days of injecting the buselerin, plus a HCG last week. Come on body, catch up will ya! 🙄

Things are finally looking more promising 🙂

Took 33 days of taking buselerin for down regulation to happen!

My scan on day 21 had revealed a harmless cyst on my ovary, but it was apparently delaying the process and not letting the down reg drug work properly. The HCG shot was given to get rid of the cyst and meanwhile I keep going with the daily buselerin. I thought it would take 3 more days but nearly 2 weeks on it seems to have finally worked 🙄😅
