Hi all, I'm coming to the end of my 2 week wait and my period is coming on, so I'm assumng this one hasn't worked. I had 2 not so good embryos frozen (from memory - graded 5BB and 4BC+). I'm not sure what the proceedure is next if NHS funded. Apparantly the funding includes collection and all subsequent transfers from that collection (as defined by a full cycle). I think I read somewhere that you have to wait a cycle before starting again to let your body rest? Is this the case with transfer only or does it only refer to a full cycle with collection? Is there possiblity of transferring straight away in the next cycle? I'm assuming that all the drugs won't be needed and it's just pessaries?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

Hiya lovely, aww I'm sorry :'-( mine didnt stick either. I had full on period on day 8 and 9 ..bang on when period was due which is hilarious as my periods are normally all over the place! . Anyway had a chat with nurse and she said they have to wait until you have a full normal period first so likely be couple of months before I can transfer frozen embie. This was also NHS and we checked that any frozen embryo transfers from the nhs funded cycle are included ( free) which is a relief as we only had funding for 1 cycle. crossing fingers and toes and everything that number two is more sticky for both of us xxxxx
Thanks, that's good to know :). My period seems bang on text book now too - must be the meds. I'm hoping my next natural period is 'normal' now so I can go for round 2 also before too long. Just hoping we don't get a second wave and things shut down again!
If you've had a NHS round, then yes - I'm at Leeds Fertility (Seacroft) :). If my frozens don't work then I'll have to go private, and think Leeds Fertility offer packages with 2 companies - Assured Fertility and Access Fertility (though limited for the over 40s). Assuming that would be the best option as they have all my medical notes and wouldn't want to waste more time repeating tests at a different private clinic.
Yep Seacroft too! I've been really impressed with them so far but I'm not sure we could afford to go private there after ( we also have 2 frozen) were thinking of doing 1 frozen then poss going abroad in new year of that fails?!
Wishing you all the luck lovely . Keep in touch xxx
Ah, in the same situation then! I have 2 frozen too & I've read that there is a 80-90% chance of the embryos surving the thaw. They might advise to get both out (if frozen before day 5, although mine were both frozen at day 6) and assess them in the lab and refreeze one if they only use one. At Leeds there is a one embryo transfer policy by default I think (unless the odds of the embryos implanting are slim, the woman is older, has tried lots of times etc. in which case they'd consider implanting 2). Going private seems very expensive in the UK and it's hard to know what to opt for - I think there's limited packages available for me at 41. I've seen prices of £5k per cycle or £7.5K for 2, but then if you only need 1 you still pay £7.5K. Would consider going abroad, but hard to find the prices, so not sure how much more affordable would be? Wondering if there might be the risk of having to repeat tests? Just waiting to report my negative test result on Monday now at Leeds, then not sure how long I'll be waiting for a follow up appointment? Presumably will need to wait for a letter and will be a online consultation... Just hoping that a second go doesn't put me to the bottom of the list. I was waiting for a hysteroscopy to remove a small polyp at Leeds but went ahead with treatment anyway, as there is no sign of that restarting.
